This provision is good
The childminder has made significant improvements from the last inspection. She now reflects effectively on her provision and has updated her knowledge and skills to improve her teaching. For example, she has improved how she observes and tracks children's development, so that they make good progress in their learning. The childminder provides and supports children with a good range of planned and purposeful activities that engage their interest and support their ongoing development and progress. Children are happy and relaxed in the childminder's care. They generally behave well and benefit from the consistent praise and encouragement offered by the childminder. The childminder provides a clean and well maintained home for the children in which they can play and learn. She supports them well in their safety awareness and teaches them good strategies for being healthy. Partnerships with parents are good. The childminder shares information regularly with

parents about their children's development, to maintain continuity of care for children.

It is not yet outstanding because:
Younger children do not have consistent opportunities to engage in activities that encourage them to explore and develop their creative abilities. The childminder does not always find effective ways to help younger children to manage their feelings.

What the setting needs to do to improve further
To further improve the quality of the early years provision the provider should:

Inspection activities
The inspector observed the children in the areas of the home used for childminding. The inspector spoke with the childminder at appropriate times throughout the inspection and discussed the effectiveness of an activity with her. The inspector looked at children's development files and the childminder's planning, policies and procedures. The inspector took account of parents' written feedback which they left for the inspection. The inspector spoke to children as they took part in their activities.
p.2
Effectiveness of the leadership and management is good
Safeguarding is effective. The childminder has a good understanding of her role and responsibilities, and the procedures to follow should she have any concerns about a child's welfare. The childminder regularly risk assesses her home and any outings before she takes children out to ensure their safety is maintained. The childminder has good methods to support continuity in children's care. For example, she has regular meetings with parents and encourages them to share and discuss their children's ongoing development. The childminder works in partnership with all professionals involved in children's care, such as teachers at school, to maintain a professional approach to the children's education.
p.3
Quality of teaching, learning and assessment is good
The childminder offers a welcoming home to children, which allows them freedom to play and explore. She has adapted her home to encourage the children's education and uses different ways to support their ongoing development. For example, resources showing pictures, colours and numbers help children to learn that print carries meaning. The childminder knows the children's development stages well and plans and correctly highlights their next steps in learning. She encourages children's developing technology skills and supports their mathematical learning well. For example, she encourages the children to pour and count pasta pieces as they make musical instruments.
p.3
Personal development, behaviour and welfare are good
The childminder helps children to be confident, polite and respectful in their development of manners. For example, she encourages them to say 'please' and 'thank you' when appropriate and provides good levels of praise for their efforts. The childminder encourages children to be healthy. For example, she regularly offers younger children a drink and takes them out daily for fresh air and exercise. The childminder develops the children's understanding of safety well. For instance, she teaches them the importance of sitting on the chairs and not standing on them, to help protect them from falling.
p.3
Outcomes for children are good
All children make good progress in their learning and develop strong skills that help to prepare them for their next stages in learning. All children talk and listen well. For example, they become engaged as they sit looking at books and chat about the story and puppets with the childminder. Children have regular opportunities to be active. For example, they enjoy visits to toddler groups where they extend their social skills and to local parks to build on their physical skills.
