This provision is good
The childminder offers a safe and welcoming environment. Children are happy and enjoy their time with her. The childminder provides regular opportunities to involve parents in their children's learning. For example, she has daily discussions and completes an online system of children's development that they easily access. This helps parents to be able to continue their children's learning at home. The childminder uses the information from her assessments well to monitor children's development and provide the appropriate support to close any development gaps. Children make good progress and are ready for the next stage in their learning. Children behave well. The childminder provides clear guidance to help them manage their behaviour. For instance, she reminds them about being kind and gentle to others. The childminder completes thorough risk assessments of her environment. This helps children to be able to play safely in their surroundings.
p.1
It is not yet outstanding because:
The childminder does not always give children sufficient time to think for themselves before they respond to a question, to extend their own learning even more. The childminder does not always make the most of opportunities to help children learn and understand about diversity in the wider world.

Inspection activities
The inspector observed the quality of teaching and the impact this has on children's learning and development. The inspector viewed all the premises used for childminding. The inspector viewed a range of documentation, including suitability checks and children's records. The inspector held discussions with the childminder at appropriate times throughout the inspection.
p.2
Effectiveness of the leadership and management is good
The childminder evaluates her service well using the views of parents, children and other early years professionals. She identifies areas of weakness and sets targets for development. This helps her improve the quality of the provision and provide better outcomes for children in her care. The childminder continually improves her knowledge and skills, for example through attending training. Safeguarding is effective. The childminder has a secure understanding of the signs that would cause her concern about a child's welfare. She knows the safeguarding procedures to follow, including if an allegation was made against her or a family member. The childminder helps children learn to keep themselves safe. For example, she practises regular emergency procedures with them and talks to them about keeping exit routes clear of toys.
p.3
Quality of teaching, learning and assessment is good
The childminder supports children's progress well. She follows their lead in their play and develops their learning further. For example, children excitedly point at the moon and the childminder explains how the moon and the sun move. She encourages their curiosity and exploration during their play. For instance, they pour water into the sand and investigate where it has gone. This helps to keep their motivation and interest in their learning. The childminder supports children's mathematical development well. For example, she uses language, such as 'high' and 'flat', and encourages them to count. The childminder provides children with choices in what they would like to do. This helps them learn that their views are of value and important.
p.3
Personal development, behaviour and welfare are good
Children form secure emotional attachments and positive relationships with the childminder. She gives extra care and attention, when appropriate. For example, the childminder provides children with reassurance when they are wary about insects in the garden. This helps support their emotional well-being. Children learn about healthy lifestyles. For instance, they help the childminder grow vegetables and fruit, and enjoy the daily opportunities for them to be physically active. Children develop their independence, such as when they prepare and cut their fruit.
p.3
Outcomes for children are good
Children make progress that is appropriate for their age and prepares them well for their future learning. They develop their language skills, such as when they start to sing nursery rhymes and perform the actions. Children build on their literacy skills well. For example, they turn the pages of the book, look at the pictures during story time and learn that print carries meaning. They increase their personal, social and emotional skills, such as when they confidently approach the childminder to share their experiences.
