This helps to foster their emotional security and well-being. The childminder has good teaching skills. For example, she uses a variety of different methods, such as questioning, listening and responding to children. Children are ready for a fun-packed day of play and learning. Activities are planned to support their interests and what they need to learn next. This helps to secure the good progress children make in their learning. Outcomes are good. Assessments of children's progress are accurate. Overall, they show an overview of the progress each individual child makes from their starting points. The childminder uses

Inspection activities
The inspector observed the childminder engaging with children in a range of activities and assessed the impact this has on their learning. The inspector looked at a sample of children's assessment records and discussed the systems for planning children's play experiences. The inspector and childminder evaluated an activity and discussed the impact on children's learning. The inspector viewed a range of policies, including risk assessments and safeguarding procedures. The inspector spoke to the childminder and children at appropriate times during the inspection and took account of the views of parents from written information. The inspector checked evidence of the childminder's suitability, training and qualifications.
p.2
Effectiveness of the leadership and management is good
The childminder is a well qualified and passionate professional who thoroughly enjoys helping children achieve while in her care. She has addressed weaknesses identified at her last inspection and has made good use of the support and guidance she has received from the local authority and her working partnerships with other childminders. The childminder completes a process of self-evaluation and involves children and parents. Her evaluations are accurate and, overall, provide her with a targeted plan to drive her practice forward. The arrangements for safeguarding are effective. The childminder understands the local procedures to follow to help protect children from harm. In addition, she carries out daily risk assessments to ensure children can play in a safe environment.
p.3
Quality of teaching, learning and assessment is good
The childminder is generally aware of individual children's stages of development, including those who require further support and guidance. She incorporates what children need to learn next into a range of fun activities which they have an interest in. For example, children make cakes in preparation for a birthday party. They are actively involved in the whole process, measuring the ingredients, learning to follow simple recipes and determining when the cakes are cooked. This helps support their mathematical development and literacy skills. Children enjoy dressing up and acting out scenes from a well-known story. The childminder sensitively interacts and joins in. This helps to develop children's vocabulary and communication skills. Parents are supported to help continue their child's learning at home. For example, the childminder shares interactive story sacks.
p.3
Personal development, behaviour and welfare are good
Children new to the childminder's care are supported well during the settling-in period. She recognises children's different personalities, interests and capabilities and is successful in meeting their needs. The childminder is a good role model. She consistently offers children lots of praise and encouragement. This fosters their self-esteem and helps them begin to understand that they are valued as an individual. Children naturally use good manners and behave very well. The childminder supports children to lead a healthy lifestyle. Children have excellent opportunities to be physically active in the outdoors, both at her home and on the array of outdoor adventures. Together, they go on nature walks, discover new animals and insects and learn about the different habitats. The childminder teaches children about making healthy food choices and how to prepare some of their meals and snacks. This helps them learn new skills and begin to manage small risks.
p.3
Outcomes for children are good
The childminder has high expectations of all children. She is effective in nurturing their desire to build on existing skills and learn new ones. Younger children are supported in their communication and language, physical development and personal, social and emotional development. This helps to build a solid foundation for successful future learning. Older children are well prepared for when the time comes to move to more formal education. All children are confident individuals who are motivated and enthusiastic learners and who often display a 'have a go' attitude.
