This provision is good
The childminder and her assistants help and encourage children to develop and progress effectively. The childminder offers children a good range of learning opportunities, inside and outside, that motivates children to explore. Children's confidence, self-esteem and independence steadily grow and develop over time under the childminder's positive interaction and support. Children behave well, share and take turns, and have positive attitudes towards others. The childminder's good relationship with parents helps her to meet children's physical and emotional needs well. For example, she regularly shares information with parents, gains their views and encourages them to contribute towards children's ongoing needs. The childminder's detailed observations and assessments of children help her to effectively identify and support any who fall behind in their learning. All children make good progress from their starting points.
p.1
This provision is good
The childminder develops her childcare knowledge effectively to meet the children's needs, for example, she has completed training to develop her assessment methods.
p.1
It is not yet outstanding because:
The childminder and her assistants do not always encourage all children to think and solve problems during group activities. The childminder does not always help children to learn more about the importance of eating a healthy diet, to develop their understanding of healthy lifestyles.

Inspection activities
The inspector observed children engaged in activities with the childminder and her assistants. The inspector spoke to the childminder, her assistants, all parents and children at appropriate times during the inspection. The inspector sampled a range of documentation, including children's details, learning records, insurance and other relevant documentation. The inspector discussed with the childminder their observations of children's learning, play and progress. The inspector looked at the parts of the home used for childminding purposes.
p.2
Effectiveness of the leadership and management is good
Safeguarding is effective. The childminder has a good knowledge of how to identify any concerns about a child's welfare and report these to the relevant agencies to help her keep children safe. She has completed safeguarding training. The childminder supports her assistants well to meet children's needs and help to safeguard them, for example, through regular meetings and training. Effective self-evaluation helps the childminder to improve the service she offers to children. For example, training has helped her to develop children's learning outdoors further to help them explore and investigate independently.
p.3
Quality of teaching, learning and assessment is good
The childminder and her assistants effectively support children to move on to their next stage of learning through good teaching and interaction. Overall, they support children's language and communication skills well during group time and storytelling sessions. Children share their thoughts and talk about their experiences. The childminder develops children's physical skills well; children ride bikes, run and climb outside. Children enjoy creative activities and learn to express their ideas and thoughts. They paint, draw, use chalks and paint the fence outside with water. Children skilfully build and construct, developing their mathematical knowledge when they build towers and bridges, and count during play.
p.3
Personal development, behaviour and welfare are good
Children settle well and form good attachments with the childminder and her assistants, who are good role models, teaching children how to behave toward others. Children learn to keep safe. For example, the childminder teaches them about road safety during trips and outings. She shows children how to cross the road safely and recognise the changing traffic lights. Children independently tidy away resources before moving on to new activities. The childminder supports children well to learn about their similarities and differences, for instance, through playing with resources and celebrating different festivals. Children confidently attend to their personal needs, such as toileting, dressing, handwashing, and feeding themselves, with good support from the childminder.
p.3
Outcomes for children are good
Children develop the key skills needed for moving on to school. Those who speak other languages at home, learn to speak English well and listen attentively to instructions. Children develop their social and emotional skills well and are confident speakers. Children learn to match and identify objects through enjoyable activities with the childminder.
