This provision is good
Children's behaviour is good. Boundaries are consistent and the clear expectations help children to learn right from wrong. The childminder is a good role model to the children, showing them respect and tolerance for each others' differences and similarities. The childminder is well qualified and experienced. She works well in partnerships with parents to address the individual needs of children. This helps to ensure that support and assistance is offered in a timely manner. The childminder skilfully builds on children's interests to effectively support their learning and development. The childminder is effective in supporting children's language and communication skills, particularly for children who speak English as an additional language. Dual language resources, pictures and visual prompts are used to help children to embrace their home language while developing their understanding of English.
p.1
It is not yet outstanding because:
The childminder's self-evaluation is not focused sharply enough on identifying where and how the good quality of teaching can be raised to an even higher standard. The childminder does not give enough consideration to how she organises toys and resources to help children actively learn, play and explore as freely as possible.

What the setting needs to do to improve further
To further improve the quality of the early years provision the provider should:

Inspection activities
The inspector observed the quality of teaching during activities indoors and outdoors and assessed the impact this has on children's learning. The inspector had discussions with the childminder. She looked at relevant documentation, such as evidence of the suitability of adults working with the children. The inspector spoke to a small selection of parents during the inspection and took account of their views.
p.2
Effectiveness of the leadership and management is good
The arrangements for safeguarding are effective. The childminder ensures policies and procedures are fully implemented and kept up to date. This helps to ensure that children are protected. The childminder and assistant work together well. The childminder has addressed all the actions set at the previous inspection. She has developed new and comprehensive training and induction arrangements for the assistant new in post. This helps to support the assistant in her practice and to improve her skills. The childminder is keen to maintain her professional development through training and research.
p.3
Quality of teaching, learning and assessment is good
The childminder gathers concise information from parents about what their children already know and can do when they first join the setting. This helps support the childminder to plan accurately and precisely for children's future learning. The childminder and assistant carry out regular observations to help identify children's levels of achievement. They work in partnership with parents to do this. The childminder skilfully uses the children's current interests to plan and provide exciting activities. Children's natural curiosity and imagination are skilfully fostered to allow children to continue with their learning while outdoors. The children use different media to explore textures. They make use of soil, hay and grass while playing with the farm animals and tractors.
p.3
Personal development, behaviour and welfare are good
Children demonstrate their strong bonds and emotional attachment to the childminder, assistant and each other. They are very confident and happy in the childminder's care. All children play well together regardless of their age or stages of development. Children learn the benefits of healthy lifestyles as they experience regular opportunities for outdoor and physical play. Children have daily opportunities to play and learn in the garden. The childminder takes them on visits to local community groups and local facilities. These opportunities help children to increase their social skills and be physically active. Children take part in growing and tending to fruit and vegetables, which they later enjoy eating as they develop their gardening skills.
p.3
Outcomes for children are good
Children are gaining skills they need for the next stage in their learning and their eventual move to school. They show developing confidence and an eagerness to learn. Children are beginning to build useful skills, such as listening to instructions and tidying up. Older children recognise their names in print and are beginning to be able to write them correctly. Two-year-old children develop their problem-solving skills. They learn to identify and match shapes as they post them into the shape sorter.
