p.1

The provision does not meet requirements

 The childminder does not have a valid first-aid qualification and has continued to care for children since her qualification expired more than a year ago. This is detrimental to children's welfare, as the childminder does not have up-to-date knowledge of how to treat children's minor injuries. This is also a breach of the Childcare Register.  The childminder has failed to obtain valid public liability insurance for the last six months. This is also a breach of the Childcare Register.  The childminder has a weak understanding of child protection and safeguarding. She has poor knowledge of the indicators that a child may be at risk of harm and the reporting procedures for concerns. This is also a breach of the Childcare Register.  The childminder understands how to support children's learning. She reviews the progress children make and uses their interests to plan activities to meet their needs.

p.1

The provision does not meet requirements

 The childminder has a basic understanding of working with parents. For example, they discuss a consistent approach to supporting children's behaviour. However, she does not always communicate with parents well enough about children's sleep times.  The childminder has been aware of long-standing breaches of requirements, but has failed to take effective action to address these. Capacity to improve is weak.

p.1

The provision does not meet requirements

There were no children present when this inspection took place. The findings in this report are based on evidence gathered from discussions with those who care for the children and an inspection of the premises, equipment and relevant documentation. Where there are no children present, no judgement is made on the quality of the early years provision as there is no reliable evidence on which to assess its impact on children. The report states whether the provider continues to meet the requirements of registration.
