The childminder has a very poor understanding of the requirements of the early years foundation stage. She has not addressed all the areas for improvement identified at her last inspection and further weaknesses are evident. The childminder has not maintained her public liability insurance policy. The childminder has a poor knowledge of the signs and symptoms of abuse and neglect, and of what action to take if she has concerns about a child. She does not know the procedures to follow if an allegation was made against herself or her assistant. Therefore, she cannot promote children's welfare. Parts of the premises to be used for childminding are not suitable. The childminder does not undertake risk assessments so that hazards in the home and garden are identified and minimised. This puts children at risk. The childminder has a poor understanding of how to manage children's behaviour effectively. This has an impact on the development of children's social skills and their

emotional well-being. The childminder does not know how to effectively observe and assess children's progress, including the requirement to carry out a progress check for children aged between two and three years. This has an impact on the childminder's ability to identify and plan children's individual next steps in learning to help them to make progress. The childminder has some of the required record keeping procedures in place, for example, to record accidents and any prescribed medication administered to children.
p.1
The provision does not meet requirements
There were no children present when this inspection took place. The findings in this report are based on evidence gathered from discussions with those who care for the children and an inspection of the premises, equipment and relevant documentation. Where there are no children present, no judgement is made on the quality of the early years provision as there is no reliable evidence on which to assess its impact on children. The report states whether the provider continues to meet the requirements of registration.
