Inspector Clive Lucas

Ofsted issued a compliance notice on 17 June 2016, in respect of concerns relating to the safe recruitment of staff. In order to evaluate the progress that the home had made in addressing these concerns, a monitoring visit was undertaken by an inspector on 8 July 2016. At this visit, the inspector found that there was an appropriate written procedure on recruitment checks. This procedure has been followed for the latest two staff members to start work at the home. As a result of this, all of the checks required by the Children’s Homes (England) Regulations 2015 have been carried out. This has helped to ensure that children are protected from being looked after by adults who may be unsuitable or who may pose a risk to them. Consequently, the compliance notice has been met. There were 10 further requirements and one recommendation made at the full inspection. These were not reviewed during this visit as the timescales for them
