This provision is good
Children's personal and emotional development is exceptionally well supported. The childminder is considerate to children's individual needs, which she meets very successfully. Children show that they feel absolutely secure and happy in her care. The childminder has good partnerships with parents. She keeps them well informed about their children's day and progress. She ensures parents participate in children's learning. For example, they share information about learning at home and agree the next steps in children's learning. Self-evaluation processes are effective. The childminder gathers and reflects on the views of parents to identify and improve aspects of her provision. The childminder knows children's starting points and ensures they benefit from a range of challenging experiences. Children make good progress in all areas of their learning and development.
p.1
It is not yet outstanding because:
At times, the childminder does not give children enough time to consider their own thoughts and use their words.

continue to support children to use their thoughts and language fully, so they learn to express and form their own conclusions.
p.2
Inspection activities
The inspector and the childminder discussed the systems she uses to observe and record children's progress, and the documents used to support her work. The inspector completed observations of the children as they engaged in activities with the childminder. The inspector looked at the rooms and resources the children use. The inspector sampled written feedback from parents, which the childminder made available during the inspection.
p.2
Effectiveness of the leadership and management is good
Safeguarding is effective. The childminder understands child protection issues and her role in safeguarding children. She is able to describe the signs and symptoms that may alert her to causes of concern and she understands her responsibility in reporting these. The childminder is committed to continually improving her childcare service; for example, she reflects on her recent training and makes changes to benefit the children and their learning experiences. The childminder monitors and assesses children's progress. She uses this knowledge to plan exciting, challenging activities that help children to make good progress in their learning.
p.3
Quality of teaching, learning and assessment is good
Children are delighted to play together. For example, they help the childminder to devise an obstacle race where they develop their physical skills to balance, climb and jump. The childminder helps children to develop high levels of self-confidence, such as when taking appropriate risks. For example, she uses good levels of praise while children jump a bit higher each time. The childminder reacts well to children's learning needs. On the day of inspection it was exceptionally hot, so the childminder arranged for the children to play in a shaded area, while using sheets and blankets to make a tent. In the garden area, there was lots of laughter as children enjoyed splashing water at each other as they cooled off. They were delighted with this game and requested more water. The childminder responded with enthusiasm, enhancing children's delight.
p.3
Personal development, behaviour and welfare are outstanding
Children are completely secure and self-assured in the care of this exceptionally kind and thoughtful childminder. The childminder is highly sensitive to the needs of children and responds with sympathetic words. When children are tired, she arranges quiet, cool activities. The childminder supports children extremely well and uses her in-depth knowledge of the children to ensure all experiences are enjoyable and inclusive. For example, she shows great respect to children who are learning English as an additional language, and ensures they feel included and valued.
p.3
Outcomes for children are good
Children make good progress and are confident to try new activities. They show exceptional kindness, for example, they share, take turns and consider one another's ideas while they play. Children are developing useful skills for their future learning.
