This provision is outstanding
The childminder and her assistant work exceptionally well as a team to help achieve excellence in the quality of practice and provision. They use their knowledge and skills extremely well to deliver a highly successful learning programme. Children make significant progress towards the next stages in their development. Children thrive in a language-rich environment and make exceptional progress in their communication skills. Furthermore, they benefit from highly interesting opportunities to learn other languages, such as French and Cantonese. The childminder offers lots of praise to acknowledge good behaviour. For example, when younger children spontaneously say 'thank you' at mealtimes, she praises older children for modelling polite language to them. Children develop a positive sense of themselves and establish excellent relationships with each other. This contributes significantly to their emotional well-being.

The inspector held discussions with the childminder and her assistant at appropriate times. The inspector conducted a joint observation with the childminder. The inspector viewed a sample of documents including children's learning records.
p.2
Effectiveness of the leadership and management is outstanding
The childminder and her assistant are extremely committed to supporting individual children's needs exceptionally well. For example, they deploy themselves sensitively and plan activities highly effectively to help ensure that all groups benefit from their time at the setting. The childminder monitors the work of her assistant extremely well and identifies precise training needs that help to raise the quality of teaching even further. She completes highly detailed assessments of children's progress and monitors individual children's development exceptionally well. Safeguarding is effective. Recruitment processes are extremely thorough and place great emphasis on the safety of the children. The childminder and her assistant have an excellent understanding of the possible signs and symptoms that may cause concern for children's welfare.
p.3
Quality of teaching, learning and assessment is outstanding
The childminder and her assistant fit in sensitively with children's ideas and enthusiastically join in their play. This helps to motivate children exceptionally well. Children show high levels of eagerness and involvement in what they choose to do. For example, older children use their imagination exceptionally well to create exciting play themes. They imagine a little town in the childminder's garden and pretend to take the train to different venues, such as a shop, the doctors and to the park for a tea party. Although they enjoy excellent role play opportunities, children do not always have regular access to a range of art and craft materials to help build on their creativity even further.
p.3
Personal development, behaviour and welfare are outstanding
Children behave extremely well and develop an excellent understanding of boundaries. For example, the childminder has developed and displayed specific rules for each area of the house that children use. She guides children consistently to develop an understanding of what is expected. The childminder works in excellent partnership with parents and professionals to help support children with medical needs. Children enjoy exciting opportunities to learn about the wider world. For example, they post a parcel to the childminder's friend who lives abroad and she uses pictures and videos to discuss with children about people living in other countries.
p.3
Outcomes for children are outstanding
Young children develop an excellent understanding of routines, such as sleep time. They enjoy a wide range of opportunities to develop their physical skills and are willing to take appropriate risks, for instance, they confidently explore the trampoline in the garden. Older children make significant progress in their early literacy skills. For example, they learn to comment on pictures in stories and describe how the characters feel. Children develop strong skills that help to prepare them for their move to school.
