She has not given sufficient consideration to how to keep children safe in the home and garden. She has not identified hazards that present a risk to young children. The premises are not secure. The childminder is not taking reasonable steps to ensure that unauthorised persons cannot enter the premises. This means children are not being sufficiently protected. The childminder has not informed Ofsted of changes to the persons living in the home. The childminder has not informed us of significant events that may affect her suitability.
p.1
The provision does not meet requirements
The childminder does not demonstrate a sufficiently clear understanding of the learning and development requirements. She does not have systems in place to assess children's progress and is unaware of the need to carry out a progress check between the ages of two and three years. The childminder has a lot of policies and procedures, but does not know what they say. She is unclear on procedures to follow if an allegation is made against her. There is no first aid box in the home. This means she does not have the relevant resources to manage any accidents. The childminder does not demonstrate a clear understanding of positive behaviour management strategies and is unclear on how she would manage challenging behaviour. The childminder is unaware of the requirement to plan outdoor activities for children every day. Records relating to the very short period of time when the childminder was providing a

service were not available for inspection. There were no children present when this inspection took place. The findings in this report are based on evidence gathered from discussions with those who care for the children and an inspection of the premises, equipment and relevant documentation. Where there are no children present, no judgement is made on the quality of the early years provision as there is no reliable evidence on which to assess its impact on children. The report states whether the provider continues to meet the requirements of registration.
