She makes good use of what she knows about children's achievements to plan activities to extend their learning. Children make good progress from their starting points and are being well prepared for their future learning. Children learn about similarities and differences between themselves and others. They go on outings to toddler groups, farm parks and other local attractions. This helps them to make friends and be involved in their local community. Partnerships with other settings and schools that children attend are effective. The childminder shares information and promotes continuity of care and learning as children move between different settings.
