She makes good use of information they provide to establish accurate starting points for children's learning. Children enjoy a good range of interesting experiences indoors and out. p.1
It is not yet outstanding because:
The childminder does not consistently promote the development of children's early writing skills rapidly enough. Although the childminder's procedures for self-evaluation have improved substantially since the previous inspection, they are not yet focused sharply enough on improving the quality of teaching to the highest levels.

p.2
Inspection activities
The inspector observed the quality of teaching during activities indoors and outdoors, and assessed the impact this has on children's learning. The inspector completed a joint observation with the childminder. The inspector talked to the childminder about her provision, and looked at relevant documentation, such as self-evaluation. The inspector took account of parents' views.
p.2
Effectiveness of the leadership and management is good
The childminder has a strong drive to develop her practice further. She takes good advantage of training opportunities and her links with other childminders to improve the quality of her provision. This is particularly evident in improvement made to the quality of her teaching and the accuracy of assessments. She gathers the views of parents and children to guide her planning for future development. Arrangements for safeguarding are effective. The childminder has a good understanding of her responsibilities to protect children from abuse and neglect. She knows who to turn to for assistance and guidance. Robust policies and procedures underpin the childminder's good practice to promote children's well-being and safety. This is evident both in the home and when on outings. Parents are appreciative of the safe environment and the care that the childminder gives.
p.3
Quality of teaching, learning and assessment is good
The childminder organises stimulating and challenging activities that motivate children. She makes learning fun. For example, children develop their listening and physical skills through creating hopping and wiggling dances with the childminder. She helps children develop their mathematical skills in imaginative ways. For example, children measure the plants they are growing and compare their heights. She asks well-considered questions and speaks clearly and purposefully. The childminder develops children's interest and understanding of the world around them. She builds on their learning experiences in other settings. For example, they hunt for bugs in the childminder's garden and explore the different environments they inhabit after learning about them at nursery.
p.3
Personal development, behaviour and welfare are good
Children build strong bonds with the childminder. There is a calm and friendly but busy atmosphere. There are well-established routines for the safe collection of children from school, for play and for mealtimes. Children grow in confidence and learn to express their emotions and feelings. They are polite to each other and learn to manage their emotions. They behave well and are helped to consider the consequences of their actions. For example, they listen to stories and rhymes which help them to understand other people's different points of view. The childminder promotes children's knowledge and understanding of healthy lifestyles and good hygiene procedures. They have many opportunities to be physically active.
p.3
Outcomes for children are good
The childminder helps children of all abilities to make good progress from their individual starting points. She acts promptly to identify and address any barriers to future learning. For example, children who initially lack confidence and find it difficult to make decisions are supported to make choices about the toys they play with. They play cooperatively with others. Children make good progress in developing their mathematical skills. For example, they learn to accurately count the number of scoops of rice needed to fill the weighing pan and they recognise numbers to 20 in a jigsaw game.
