She has introduced new records which parents complete before their children start and has, generally, made a good start in the evaluation of her practice. The quality of teaching is good. The experienced childminder understands how children learn. She plans an effective curriculum that promotes and extends children's independence and experiences in all areas of learning. This helps to make sure that they gain the skills needed in readiness for school. The childminder establishes loving relationships with the children. She is affectionate and responsive to their individual needs and promotes their independence effectively. This means children's care, welfare and emotional well-being are supported. children's imagination and meets their interests. She enables children to take the lead in their play. They are well behaved and motivated to participate in planned activities.
p.1
It is not yet outstanding because:
The childminder has not fully established links with all the settings children attend to enable the sharing of information about their progress and future learning. Parents and children are not yet fully involved in the evaluation of the childminder's practice in order to continue to drive improvement even further.
p.1
What the setting needs to do to improve further

Inspection activities
The inspector observed the quality of teaching during activities indoors and assessed the impact this has on children's learning. The inspector viewed the areas in the home used for childminding. The inspector completed a joint observation with the childminder. The inspector held a meeting with the childminder. She looked at relevant documentation, such as the setting's self-evaluation, online records and policies and procedures.
p.2
Effectiveness of the leadership and management is good
The arrangements for safeguarding are effective. The experienced childminder successfully promotes the safety and welfare of the children in her care. She is knowledgeable about the potential signs of abuse and neglect. She is fully aware of what to do if she is concerned about any child in her care. The childminder maintains and regularly reviews her policies and procedures which include safeguarding and child protection. The childminder conducts effective risk assessments for all the areas children use and for outings. This helps to promote children's safety. The childminder shows commitment to her ongoing professional development. She has completed further training online and regularly meets up with other childminders to discuss early years issues.
p.3
Quality of teaching, learning and assessment is good
The childminder gathers information from parents about their children's learning needs right from the beginning of any arrangement. She observes children as they play and assesses their development regularly. She uses this information to plan a range of interesting activities that helps to promote their learning. For example, children learn the letters of their name and how to write it. Children who have mastered this confidently write their name. Younger children are supported well to achieve the same outcome and the childminder introduces a dot to dot outline of letters for them to follow. The childminder encourages children to persevere with these tasks and this helps to build their concentration and self-confidence. She engages well with the children and joins in with their games and imaginative role play. Children have free access to a range of resources which they help themselves to.
p.3
Personal development, behaviour and welfare are good
Children enjoy close, warm and supportive relationships with the childminder. Their physical well-being is effectively promoted. They enjoy being outdoors in the fresh air where they explore the natural world, looking for spiders and insects. Children enjoy outings in to the community and they become aware of the area where they live. They develop a good awareness of health and safety through daily routines, discussions and activities. The childminder shares information with parents about children's care and learning experiences. This helps to keep them informed of what children do during the day and where they are going. Children are well behaved. Their confidence and self-esteem are nurtured through the positive praise and encouragement that they receive.
p.3
Outcomes for children are good
All children demonstrate good levels of self-confidence. They make good progress from their starting points and they are motivated to learn. Children are good communicators and express their needs well. They are active learners who are imaginative and creative in their outlook.
