The childminder has a poor knowledge and understanding of the requirements of the early years foundation stage. The childminder has not updated her knowledge of child protection and changes to safeguarding guidance. She lacks understanding of how to safeguard children. The childminder has not given any consideration to the use of mobile phones and cameras within her home. She does not know the procedures to follow if allegations are made against herself or a family member. Risk assessment is not effective. The childminder does not identify all aspects of her home and garden that present a risk to children's safety. The childminder does not have public liability insurance in place. She does not keep a record of complaints or of any occasions where physical intervention is used to address children's behaviour.
p.1
The provision does not meet requirements
The childminder is not familiar with the learning and development requirements. She is unable to demonstrate a secure knowledge of the areas of learning. She is unsure of how to use observations and assessments of children's learning to plan activities to meet their individual needs. The childminder understands how to promote and celebrate diversity, including how to help children learn to respect one another and the wider community. The childminder demonstrates a sound understanding of how to promote children's health and well-being. She plans plenty of opportunities for fresh air and exercise. In addition, children will be provided with nutritious meals, drinks and snacks.
p.1
The provision does not meet requirements
There were no children present when this inspection took place. The findings in this report are based on evidence gathered from discussions with those who care for the children and an inspection of the premises, equipment and relevant documentation. Where there are no children present, no judgement is made on the quality of the early years provision as there is no reliable evidence on which to assess its impact on children. The report states whether the provider continues to meet the requirements of registration.
