This provision is outstanding
The childminder has made excellent progress since the previous inspection. For instance, she has established thorough procedures for observing, assessing and monitoring children's progress. This helps her to plan exceptionally focused activities to meet their needs and help reduce gaps in their learning. Children make outstanding progress from their starting points. The childminder supports children extremely well to overcome challenges and successfully complete their chosen task. For example, children learn to build a wider base during a construction activity, to help prevent their tower from toppling over. They develop their mathematical skills as they learn to use numbers to describe which tower is taller. Partnerships with parents are exemplary. Children benefit from excellent continuity in their learning experiences. For instance, they plant bean seeds and they take them home to care for them and observe them grow.

Inspection activities
The inspector observed children and their interactions with the childminder. The inspector viewed a sample of documents, including children's learning records. The inspector held discussions with the childminder at appropriate times. The inspector took account of the views of parents and children.
p.2
Effectiveness of the leadership and management is outstanding
Self-evaluation is highly successful. The childminder makes a determined effort to improve the quality of the provision to achieve exceptional standards in children's care and learning. She has extremely high aims for all children and makes excellent use of her training knowledge and skills to improve outcomes for children. For instance, she has strengthened the programme for supporting children's mathematical skills. The childminder establishes excellent partnerships with other settings that children attend and contributes to setting common goals in children's care and learning. Safeguarding is effective. She has an extremely thorough knowledge of child protection procedures.
p.3
Quality of teaching, learning and assessment is outstanding
The childminder is highly intuitive to children's emerging interests and she motivates them extremely well to extend on what they choose to do. For example, children show great interest in arranging toy people in a doll's house and they pretend to put them to sleep. The childminder skilfully introduces a shape matching activity. Children eagerly carry on with their theme of playas they pretend to put the shape templates to sleep on their matching beds. Children are highly involved in their learning. The childminder provides interesting opportunities for children to learn about the wider world. For instance, she takes children on visits to the Chinese supermarket, which helps to build on children's growing awareness of other communities and the food they eat. However, there are slightly fewer opportunities for children to freely choose and explore multicultural activities and resources at the childminder's setting on an ongoing basis.
p.3
Personal development, behaviour and welfare are outstanding
Children develop exceptionally close relationships with the childminder and thoroughly enjoy sharing their experiences with her. For example, they have lots of fun pretending to paint her face. She enthusiastically joins in their play by telling them what colour she would like for different parts of her face. Children are happy and settle extremely well in the childminder's care. The share and take turns exceptionally well during play. Children learn to keep themselves safe from harm, for instance, through practising regular fire drills.
p.3
Outcomes for children are outstanding
Young children display extremely high levels of confidence in their interactions with others and develop as independent learners. They make rapid progress towards the next stages in their learning. Older children show a keen interest in print. For example, they attempt to read the letters in the fire exit sign and learn to link letters to sounds and to read the words. This helps to support their early literacy skills. Children are prepared extremely well for their move to school.
