This provision is good
Children are happy, settled and confident. The childminder encourages them to take an active role in deciding what they want to do and play with. Children are keen to express their thoughts and ideas. Children behave extremely well. They are exceptionally respectful towards each other and consider younger children's feelings and needs. For example, older children take time to read stories to the younger children. Parent partnerships are good. The childminder talks to parents on a daily basis and encourages them to share their thoughts and ideas to help develop her practice. The childminder completes regular risk assessments to identify and minimise all possible hazards to children. She talks to children about road safety and reinforces this on their daily walk back from school. This helps children to develop an excellent awareness of the possible dangers in the environment. There is a good range of toys and resources available to children indoors. Children

Inspection activities
The inspector looked at all areas used for childminding. The inspector took account of the views of parents spoken to on the day. The inspector spoke to the childminder and children at appropriate times during the inspection. The inspector observed the children at play.
p.2
Effectiveness of the leadership and management is good
Safeguarding is effective. The childminder has a good knowledge of the procedures to follow should she have any concerns about children's safety and welfare. She completes regular evaluations of her setting and includes the children and parents in this process. The childminder and children reflect together on what activities they want to do and have been doing. This provides opportunities for children to make choices in their play. The childminder reflects on the success of the activities and resources that she provides to extend children's play experiences further. The childminder works closely with parents to meet their children's care routines and to share information that has been passed on to her from the schoolteachers.
p.3
Quality of teaching, learning and assessment is good
The childminder provides children with an interesting range of activities and experiences. For example, children enjoy making necklaces for Mother's Day. The childminder provides activities based on the interests and suggestions of the children. For example, children were recently interested in space and spent time making their own rockets. The childminder provides other relevant resources, such as books, to further support children's interest and enable them to conduct their own research. There is a good range of age- appropriate resources available to the children. For example, children enjoy building with construction toys and using their imaginations in role play.
p.3
Personal development, behaviour and welfare are outstanding
Children enjoy an exciting, stimulating and highly original range of activities. The childminder links up with the school to find out what children are doing and devises additional experiences to extend their interest. For example, when children learnt about a famous historic battle, the childminder introduced them to medieval food and together they made a mural for the house that replicated a famous tapestry. The childminder is exceptionally skilled in understanding the needs of the children. For example, children have plenty of time to unwind and relax after school or engage in play. Parents are extremely happy with the childminder's flexibility and care. Children have an extremely well developed understanding of safety. For example, they are exceptionally aware of the possible dangers when walking home from school. Children are exceptionally confident to speak and communicate their thoughts and ideas with adults and other children. They are
