Inspection date

Previous inspection date 21 June 2016 27 February 2015

p.1

The provision does not meet requirements

 Since the last inspection, the childminder has not focused on improving the overall quality of her provision. She does not hold public liability insurance and cannot provide evidence of completing a paediatric first aid course. These were previous actions from her last inspection and this demonstrates she does not have the capacity to improve.  The childminder has not followed the correct procedure for a change in circumstances; she has failed to inform Ofsted of a change to her address.  The childminder demonstrates her understanding of the policies and procedures she will follow if she has concerns about a child's welfare. She understands the need to ensure risk assessments are thorough to help maintain children's safety. However, she cannot provide evidence of a written safeguarding policy and procedure which is a requirement of the Childcare Register.  The childminder demonstrates an understanding of how children learn and develop.

p.1

The provision does not meet requirements

She discusses how she would use observations to plan activities that support and challenge children to make progress in their learning and development. The childminder explains how she will help prepare children, emotionally and physically, for their next stage in learning, such as school.  The childminder understands the importance of working in partnership with parents. She provides examples of how she will share information with parents to keep them involved and informed of their children's progress.

p.1

The provision does not meet requirements

There were no children present when this inspection took place. The findings in this report are based on evidence gathered from discussions with those who care for the children and an inspection of the premises, equipment and relevant documentation. Where there are no children present, no judgement is made on the quality of the early years provision as there is no reliable evidence on which to assess its impact on children. The report states whether the provider continues to meet the requirements of registration.
