The provision does not meet requirements
The childminder has a limited capacity to improve. He has not taken sufficient action to address all of the weaknesses identified at the last inspection. He has also failed to inform Ofsted of two significant events which have affected the arrangements for childminding. The childminder has again failed to obtain and maintain a current first-aid certificate. The areas of the premises used for childminding purposes are not safe or secure. A folded treadmill is sited behind a settee where children's toys are stored and the front door is not secured. The childminder is unable to demonstrate how to identify and minimise hazards to children, particularly when assisting the co-childminder with children on the premises. The childminder lacks an awareness of supervising children appropriately in order to maintain their safety and welfare. Records of children's daily attendance have not been maintained accurately. They do not indicate the specific hours when children have been

cared for or who was caring for them. This is particularly relevant when the childminder is working as an assistant to his co-childminder. The childminder has little understanding of the learning and development requirements or how children learn effectively. He does not understand how to observe and assess children's progress. This has an impact on his ability to promote children's learning. In addition, he is unable to support children in preparation for future learning and school. The childminder shows a basic awareness of the known signs and symptoms of abuse and neglect and is able to refer to the co-childminder's policy and procedures in order to report concerns.
p.1
The provision does not meet requirements
There were no children present when this inspection took place. The findings in this report are based on evidence gathered from discussions with those who care for the children and an inspection of the premises, equipment and relevant documentation. Where there are no children present, no judgement is made on the quality of the early years provision as there is no reliable evidence on which to assess its impact on children. The report states whether the provider continues to meet the requirements of registration.
