This provision is good
Children make good progress ready for their next stage in learning and eventual move to school. The childminder and her assistants monitor children's next steps and they plan activities that support all areas of learning and development. The childminder has effective relationships with parents. She regularly shares information with them and involves them fully in their children's learning and achievements. The childminder and her assistants form positive and trusting relationships with children. Children's behaviour shows that they feel safe and secure in the setting. All children are treated with respect and their views and thoughts are valued. The childminder uses thorough supervision methods to mentor and monitor her assistants' performance and to help them to gain formal childcare qualifications.
p.1
It is not yet outstanding because:
The childminder does not obtain precise information from parents about what their children already know and can do initially, to fully identify their starting points in relation to their learning. At times, the childminder does not ensure that all activities and interactions with children fully challenge their learning to the highest possible level.

What the setting needs to do to improve further
To further improve the quality of the early years provision the provider should:

Inspection activities
The inspector observed the childminder, assistants and children in the childminder's home and garden. The inspector spoke to the childminder, assistants and children at appropriate times throughout the inspection. The inspector discussed self-evaluation with the childminder and conducted a short joint observation with the childminder. The inspector sampled documents that the childminder uses to support her practice. The inspector took account of the views of parents.
p.2
Effectiveness of the leadership and management is good
Safeguarding is effective. The childminder and her assistants have a comprehensive knowledge of child protection procedures and the processes to follow. There are effective systems to limit children's access to potential hazards, indoors and outdoors. Partnerships with parents and others are good. The childminder involves parents in their children's care and education. She works with local schools to gain information about class teachers and prepares comprehensive reports for when children leave her care. There are effective systems to monitor the provision, which helps to raise outcomes and make continuous improvements. The childminder and her assistants observe each other's practice and identify training to help improve their teaching. The childminder has made improvements to her provision since her last inspection and has updated her knowledge of legal requirements.
p.3
Quality of teaching, learning and assessment is good
The childminder has successful systems to observe, assess and monitor children's progress. She encourages parents to keep her informed of children's learning at home and their developing interests. She then incorporates this information into her planning for the individual children. The childminder and her assistants work well together to plan and provide a good balance of adult-led and child-led activities. These are provided between the indoors and outdoors and cover all aspects of learning. Children enjoy the opportunity to explore when in the garden. They enthusiastically jump in muddy puddles and watch as the mud trickles down their wellington boots. Children play with sand, water, and take great delight in making their marks on the wall using paint.
p.3
Personal development, behaviour and welfare are good
Children feel secure, comfortable and safe. Assistants remind children to go 'slowly' and to take turns rotating so they do not become dizzy as they dance in circles. Children are confident and eager to introduce themselves and their friends to visitors, which they do with enthusiasm. The childminder is responsive to children's emotional needs and values their contributions and views. Children behave well in relation to their ages and levels of understanding. They are beginning to learn right from wrong. For example, the childminder and her assistants gently remind children to share and take turns during their play.
p.3
Outcomes for children are good
Children make good progress in their learning and development and are ready for the next stage of learning and their eventual move to school. They access an enabling environment, which arouses their curiosity and allows them to explore. Children make good use of the activities and resources available and make choices in their play.
