The provision meets requirements
The provider has met the actions and implemented the recommendations made at the last inspection. The supervision arrangements for staff have been improved so any gaps in knowledge and training are more swiftly addressed. All staff now hold a current first-aid qualification. The manager and staff have a sound knowledge and understanding of how to provide children with enjoyable and exciting activities to match their individual interests and capabilities. Toys and resources are easily accessible to enable children to make decisions as they play. The manager and staff can explain how they develop effective relationships with parents and the children's teachers. This helps to ensure there is a two-way flow of information, which provides children with continuity and consistency of care and learning. The club provides an inclusive service. When younger children join the club they are allocated a key person who supports their care needs and full participation in activities.
p.1
The provision meets requirements
A safe play environment is maintained through effective use of risk assessments of the premises, both indoors and outside. Staff understand their safeguarding responsibilities and know what to do if they have concerns about a child's welfare. Staff demonstrate that they understand the importance of promoting children's good health and independence. They make use of the school grounds to encourage physical activity. They ensure healthy food is provided and promote effective hygiene routines. The manager and staff understand how to promote children's behaviour in a consistent and positive way. They explain the importance of helping children to develop tolerance and respect for each other. The provider and manager are fully aware of the importance of self-evaluation. They seek the views of children and parents to help identify areas for further improvements.
p.1
The provision meets requirements
There were no children present when this inspection took place. The findings in this report are based on evidence gathered from discussions with those who care for the children and an inspection of the premises, equipment and relevant documentation. Where there are no children present, no judgement is made on the quality of the early years provision as there is no reliable evidence on which to assess its impact on children. The report states whether the provider continues to meet the requirements of registration.
p.1
Inspection activities
The inspector discussed with the manager and key persons the planning arrangements in place to support the younger children's learning and progress. The inspector observed areas to be used when caring for children and viewed the play equipment. The inspector viewed evidence of suitability and qualifications of the staff team, self- evaluation, policies and procedures, risk assessment and other documentation in relation to health and safety checks. The inspector discussed with the provider and the manager how they monitor the club and develop partnerships with parents and other professionals.
