She is proactive at putting in place appropriate support, if necessary. The childminder's knowledge of the children in her care is strong. A positive role model, she manages behaviour effectively and helps children to understand sharing. Children are happy. They learn to take turns and consider the needs of others. Children demonstrate secure and warm relationships with the childminder. They play alongside her and seek her out to share experiences. All children make good progress. They develop the confidence and independence that will equip them for their future learning. The childminder has good partnerships with parents. She shares their children's learning, provides ideas for learning at home, and seeks their views to improve her service.

She is aware of what to do if she has a concern about a child. Safeguarding is effective. The childminder understands the value of professional development, and regularly attends training and shares good practice with other childminders. Since the last inspection, the childminder has improved how she evaluates her provision. For example, she now seeks the opinions of the families who attend to continually improve the quality of care and learning for children. In addition, the childminder has made positive changes by adapting her planning, observations and assessments. Partnerships with other settings and schools children attend are secure. The childminder uses professional development opportunities well to improve outcomes for children. Recent training has enabled the childminder to further

Quality of teaching, learning and assessment is good
Children enjoy a good range of activities indoors and in the garden that effectively promote their development in all areas of learning. The childminder ensures that children have time to play independently and extend their learning through their own interests, such as exploration through water play. She praises their achievements and builds children's self-esteem. The childminder promotes and extends children's language development well. For example, she is animated and enthusiastic as she reads stories and sings with children in the garden. She speaks clearly, reinforces language, and encourages children's speaking and listening skills. Parents comment on the wide variety of learning activities, including baking cakes, making playdough and messy play.

Personal development, behaviour and welfare are good
Children are happy and settled in the childminder's home. They benefit from a secure and consistent daily routine which helps them to feel secure. Children enjoy plenty of fresh air as they spend time in the garden. The childminder has good relationships with the children and successfully promotes respect and consideration for others. The childminder provides good opportunities for children to develop independence skills. For example, at snack time children clean their hands, and select and cut their fruit.
