This provision is outstanding
The childminder is highly consistent in her approach to behaviour management. She is highly effective at increasing children's understanding of the importance of working together. They listen to each other's views and share resources exceptionally well. Children behave exceptionally well. The leadership of the setting is excellent. The childminder carries out regular training and uses this to help her greatly enhance the care she gives to the children. For example, after recent forest school training, the childminder now teaches children extremely well about nature and the wider world around them. The childminder works in excellent partnerships with the early years team and other childminders to help her to assess the quality of her work. For example, she clearly identifies areas of improvement, which greatly helps to benefit children through the high-quality activities and care she provides. The childminder has highly consistent practices in place to help her to monitor all

aspects of her provision and children's learning. This helps children to progress exceptionally well from the onset and to narrow any gaps in their achievements. Children have an excellent bond with the childminder. This helps her to successfully promote children's learning and development. For example, she fully understands the differences in how children learn and uses this well to plan high-quality activities.

Inspection activities
The inspector observed children playing in the main playroom and garden. The inspector spoke with the childminder at appropriate times during the inspection. The inspector sampled documents, including safeguarding, and policies and procedures.
p.2
Effectiveness of the leadership and management is outstanding
Safeguarding is effective. The childminder has an excellent understanding of child protection. This helps her to keep children extremely safe from harm and neglect. The childminder is highly effective at completing risk assessments and this helps enable children to play in a safe learning environment. The childminder is highly proactive at gathering and using the views of parents and children to improve her practice. She uses this information to help inform her evaluations of her practice. The childminder holds development meetings with parents and encourages them to share what areas of their children's learning they wish her to work on. She then uses this to inform her planning. For example, by helping children to practise their early writing skills.
p.3
Quality of teaching, learning and assessment is outstanding
The childminder uses her excellent knowledge of children's learning, development and their interests to move them on to their next stage of learning. She uses this key knowledge to plan highly effective activities to progress further children's learning and development. For example, children enthusiastically explore sand to hunt for dinosaur bones and then compare the sizes of the bones as they dig. This helps reinforce their mathematical skills and understanding of the wider world. The childminder successfully tracks children's learning and development and uses this to help her to precisely identify clearly areas to work on. She shares these with other professionals, as well as gathering the next steps they are working on with the children. This helps her work extremely well in partnership with them to extend and enhance children's learning and development, and to provide excellent continuity of care.
p.3
Personal development, behaviour and welfare are outstanding
The childminder has excellent procedures in place to teach children about their own health and well-being. For example, all children prepare their own snacks and learn how to use knives safely, and learn the importance of drinking water when it is hot. In addition, older children act as positive role models and help younger ones, such as by giving them their water bottles as they play. Children independently choose from an excellent range of resources both inside and outside. However, experiences to promote younger children's sensory development are slightly less evident at times.
p.3
Outcomes for children are outstanding
Children make excellent progress with their learning and development from their starting points. All children are highly confident in their play and learning. They develop excellent personal and social skills. For example, children are highly skilled in dressing themselves and safely negotiating the steps in the garden, given their ages. Children enthusiastically enjoy making meaningful marks, such as when using paintbrushes and chalks.
