The childminder provides suitable resources and activities to support children in their learning and development. Children make good developmental progress. Children share secure relationships with the childminder. She provides a calm and nurturing environment in which all children feel included. Children's care needs and emotional well-being are well supported. Partnerships with parents and other settings children attend are strong. Regular information sharing supports good continuity of care. Children have good opportunities to learn how to stay safe. They learn about risk and understand how to play safely. The childminder evaluates her provision to make continuous improvements. She has made good progress since the last inspection. She has addressed the recommendations and action previously made.
p.1

Inspection activities
The inspector observed children participating in activities indoors and observed the childminder's interaction with them. The inspector held discussions with the childminder at appropriate times during the inspection, including how she evaluates her service to make improvements. The inspector completed a joint observation with the childminder. The inspector looked at documentation, including safeguarding procedures, suitability checks and children's development records. The inspector took account of the views of parents in written feedback.
p.2
Effectiveness of the leadership and management is good
The experienced and caring childminder keeps up to date with current requirements, including through meeting with other childminders and sharing information with them. She makes use of feedback, such as from early years advisers and parents, to support her professional development and to identify and make improvements. Written feedback from parents indicates they are very happy with the care and support their children receive. Safeguarding is effective. The childminder knows how to keep children safe and what to do if she has concerns about children's welfare. She has developed her knowledge in this area since her last inspection. The childminder risk assesses her home regularly to identify and reduce any potential hazards.
p.3
Quality of teaching, learning and assessment is good
Children have fun choosing and exploring resources. They are developing good problem- solving skills. For example, they thoroughly enjoy moving wheeled toys and investigating how things work. The childminder supports and extends their learning skilfully, such as by asking useful questions as they play. She helps children make links to their own experiences. For example, as they looked at books, she helped them to recall animals they have seen on outings. They had fun making the sounds that animals make. The childminder knows the children well. She monitors their progress and works closely with parents and other professionals to support children's learning and development.
p.3
Personal development, behaviour and welfare are good
Children are relaxed in the welcoming family environment. The childminder encourages children's independence well from an early age. For example, they learn to dress themselves and tidy up toys. Children behave well. They know how to share and use good manners, for example. They learn to develop respect for others and value differences. The childminder gives children lots of praise and encouragement for their efforts. Children's health and well-being is supported well. For instance, they participate in physical play, take trips to the park and follow good hygiene routines.
p.3
Outcomes for children are good
Overall, all children make good progress in relation to their starting points. Children develop good social and communication skills. They gain confidence in their abilities. They are well prepared for the next stage in their learning, including starting school.
