This provision is good
The childminder and her assistants develop strong relationships with children. They know children well as individuals and support their personal, social and emotional well- being effectively. The childminder evaluates her provision well to help her identify and secure future improvements. This has helped her to maintain the good quality of her provision. The childminder and her assistants use accurate assessments to check children's progress effectively and to identify gaps in their learning and development. This helps them to provide a wide range of suitably challenging experiences and activities that meet each child's individual needs and help them make good progress. The childminder and her assistants are successful in encouraging parents to share information about their children's learning and development at home, which helps them further develop interesting activities and assessments.

Inspection activities
Discussions took place with the childminder and an assistant at appropriate times during the inspection. The inspector observed activities and adult interactions with children in the home and the garden. The inspector looked at documentation, including a sample of children's records, and checked the suitability of the childminder and her assistants to be with children. The inspector took account of the views of children and an assistant spoken to on the day of the inspection, and those of parents through reviewing documents. The inspector discussed the childminder's self-evaluation with her. The inspector completed a joint observation with the childminder.
p.2
Effectiveness of the leadership and management is good
The childminder has a good understanding of how children learn and develop. All adults understand their responsibilities to safeguard children. They are aware of the procedures to follow if they have concerns about the welfare of a child. The arrangements for safeguarding are effective. The childminder is a strong leader. She uses effective methods to support the professional development of herself and her assistants. Their joint approach helps ensure consistently good teaching and continuity of care for children. The childminder regularly checks each child's progress and provides any extra support that is needed. Partnerships with parents are positive. Parents state how happy they are with the childminder's service.
p.3
Quality of teaching, learning and assessment is good
Children play in a welcoming environment, with well-organised play areas and stimulating resources on offer. The childminder provides a good range of activities, both indoors and outside, that support children's understanding across all areas of learning. The childminder and her assistants are good teachers and have high expectations of what children can achieve. They regularly observe them and consider their interests when planning activities. The adults interact with the children with enthusiasm and in a positive manner. They effectively extend children's growing vocabularies; for example, they introduce children to new words as they play. The adults encourage children to be creative, such as through stimulating musical activities that include playing instruments and exploring the sounds they make.
p.3
Personal development, behaviour and welfare are good
The childminder and her assistants work closely with parents to help children to settle in quickly, which helps to support children's emotional well-being. Children benefit from regular praise and gain self-assurance, such as through having their achievements celebrated. Children develop a good understanding of, and respect for, others. The childminder and her assistants promote healthy lifestyles well with children. For example, children enjoy having many opportunities for exercise. The childminder and her assistants are good role models to children. They are consistent in their approach to behaviour, which helps children to behave well.
p.3
Outcomes for children are good
All children make good progress from their starting points. Children are well prepared for the next stage in learning and for the eventual move on to other settings and school. They develop a good range of skills and are well motivated to learn. For example, they gain coordination skills while learning how to use a bat and ball. They develop high self-esteem and confidence.
