The provision does not meet requirements
The childminder is not familiar with changes to safeguarding legislation and guidance. In addition, she lacks a secure understanding of the action to be taken in the event of an allegation being made against herself or a member of her household. The childminder has a weak understanding of the seven areas of learning, which means she fails to provide educational programmes to ensure children take part in a broad and balanced curriculum. The childminder has a poor knowledge of the observation and assessment processes, including the progress check at age two. Consequently, activities and resources are not matched to children's individual needs. The childminder does not minimise hazards to ensure the security of the premises, specifically in the garden, in order to keep children safe. The childminder has not considered the benefit of reflecting, monitoring and evaluating the quality of her setting, to continually make improvements.
p.1
The provision does not meet requirements
The childminder understands the importance of how to manage and promote children's behaviour in a positive way. The childminder holds a current first-aid certificate and has public liability insurance. She has the knowledge and skills to meet children's needs in the event of an accident or an emergency. The indoor learning environment is welcoming and includes a range of toys and resources suitable for children of different ages. The childminder talks confidently about the importance of exchanging information with parents, other providers and professionals, to support children's individual needs. The childminder is able to explain how she would encourage children to develop independence through their play and daily routines.
p.1
The provision does not meet requirements
There were no children present when this inspection took place. The findings in this report are based on evidence gathered from discussions with those who care for the children and an inspection of the premises, equipment and relevant documentation. Where there are no children present, no judgement is made on the quality of the early years provision as there is no reliable evidence on which to assess its impact on children. The report states whether the provider continues to meet the requirements of registration.
