This provision is good
Children benefit from a warm and nurturing learning environment. Staff give children lots of reassurance and praise as they learn new skills. Children develop a good sense of belonging and self-worth. Their behaviour is good. Staff plan and provide interesting experiences to enthuse children to learn. Children make good progress in their learning and development. They are ready for the next stages in their learning, including their move to school. Children enjoy visits to places of interest. Staff use these visits to enrich children's learning and to help them understand about diversity. Parents attend meetings with staff to discuss their children's progress and to contribute to children's next steps in learning. Staff undertake professional training to strengthen their skills. This is evident in the way that staff have developed the outdoor environment to benefit all children. The manager plans activities with the staff team and checks the quality of the provision

to help ensure that children receive good care and learning.
p.1
It is not yet outstanding because:
Occasionally, staff respond quickly to questions rather than giving children more time to gather and share their thoughts to fully promote their communication and thinking skills.

What the setting needs to do to improve further
To further improve the quality of the early years provision the provider should:

Inspection activities
The inspector observed activities in all parts of the nursery, including the outdoor area. The inspector spoke to members of staff and children at appropriate times during the inspection and held meetings with the nursery management team. The inspector carried out joint observations with the manager. The inspector took account of the views of parents spoken to during the inspection and reviewed parents' written comments and suggestions. The inspector looked at children's records, planning documentation and the nursery's policies and procedures, including those related to the suitability of staff.
p.2
Effectiveness of the leadership and management is good
The management team provides effective leadership. Managers support and supervise staff effectively and set them challenging targets to improve their practice. The manager and staff check the progress of each child and groups of children so that they can easily identify any who are falling behind in their learning. Staff successfully provide well- targeted support to help close any gaps. Safeguarding is effective. The provider has thorough procedures in place to ensure the safe recruitment of staff. All staff undergo suitability checks prior to them working with children to make sure they are suitable for their role. Staff have a good knowledge of the safeguarding requirements and follow the correct procedures to protect children. The managers take into account the views, comments and suggestions of parents, children and others to improve their practice. They ensure that the nursery continues to provide a good service.
p.3
Quality of teaching, learning and assessment is good
Staff collate detailed information about the children prior to them attending nursery. They use this information with their ongoing observations to meet children's individual needs. Children have positive attitudes to learning. For example, through planned activities for songs and music, children engage well in rhymes, sing songs and dance to music. They experiment with paints, and staff encourage them to observe and to talk about how colours change when they are mixed. Children enjoy growing plants in the garden and they make good comments on how plants grow. They confidently count, sort and match objects. Children learn to use mathematical language to describe objects around them.
p.3
Personal development, behaviour and welfare are good
Children have strong bonds with staff and are confident to ask for help. Staff use positive and age-appropriate strategies to manage children's behaviour. Staff help children to adopt healthy eating habits. Staff encourage children to become increasingly independent. For instance, the young children learn to feed themselves and chop slices of fruit. The older children help to set up the table and serve food to the younger children. Staff encourage children to be physically active. For example, children confidently climb apparatus, bounce on the trampoline, or visit the local park to get exercise and fresh air. Staff carry out regular and thorough checks on the premises, resources and outings. They practise the fire drill regularly to help children leave the building calmly and safely.
p.3
Outcomes for children are good
All children make good progress and any gaps in learning are rapidly closing. Young children explore tools safely. Children develop confident speaking and listening skills. For example, older children are confident to express their feelings and to talk about the changes that happen to the weather around them.
