very well settled in their care, and display high levels of confidence. They show excellent behaviour, manners and respect for their carers and each other. This contributes to their growing levels of self-esteem and confidence. The childminder and assistant have built extremely strong and meaningful bonds with parents and teachers at the local school. They all work together in partnership to support children's development and individual needs. This means transitions can be managed effectively and smoothly as children are very well prepared. The childminder conducts regular and precise self-evaluations of her setting. She actively includes the views of parents, her assistant and children to drive ongoing improvements to benefit children immensely.

Inspection activities
The inspector observed the quality of teaching during activities both indoors and outdoors, and assessed the impact this has on children's learning. The inspector spoke to the childminder, her assistant and the children at appropriate times throughout the inspection. The childminder and inspector evaluated activities undertaken during the session. The inspector looked at relevant documentation, such as policies and procedures and children's learning journeys, and checked evidence of suitability for all adults who live or work on the premises. The inspector took into account the views of parents from written references. The inspector looked at various areas of the premises used for childminding and discussed the arrangements for overnight care.
p.2
Effectiveness of the leadership and management is outstanding
The childminder has a constant drive to maintain the highest levels of achievement for each child. Rigorous self-evaluation and reflection provide robust action plans for continued development that identify creative ways to support children's learning. For example, there are plans to create an outdoor water wall to enable the children to develop their interests in science and maths more freely. The arrangements for safeguarding are effective. Exceptionally well-written procedures help to maintain the safety of the setting and children. The childminder and her assistant have a thorough understanding of wider safeguarding issues. The childminder vigorously monitors her assistant through regular reflection on practice and discussion. She shares her expert knowledge with her and ensures the quality of teaching is first-class.
p.3
Quality of teaching, learning and assessment is outstanding
The childminder and her assistant plan rich and stimulating opportunities for children, ensuring their individual needs and interests are met. They skilfully follow the ideas of children and cleverly adapt activities to suit and challenge them. Children evidently enjoy learning about the world around them and how animals and plants grow. They watch in wonder at their growing tadpoles and excitedly point out frogs they spot in the bamboo, talking about their size, colour and how bouncy they are. Children learn skills in maths in every activity. They count water beads, discuss their texture and colour, how they expand and how they disperse. The childminder has skilfully embedded routines into the children's day to support their excellent language development and awareness of how to care for living things. Children eagerly and confidently tend to their rescue hens and collect eggs, deciding if there are enough for everyone's tea.
p.3
Personal development, behaviour and welfare are outstanding
A highly stimulating environment is provided by the childminder. Children select resources from accessible boxes to allow them to develop independence. This is further supported by clear and embedded routines throughout the children's day. The childminder and her assistant have exceptionally high expectations of children. They are very effectively supported in developing and maintaining their self-care skills and how to keep themselves safe. For example, children wash their hands after tending to the hens and discuss how they are, 'Washing the hen germs away so they don't get poorly'. Children learn about healthy lifestyles very well, substantial home-cooked meals are offered and they learn the importance of eating a varied diet. This is further supported as they grow their own fruits and vegetables to aid their understanding. Children enjoy fabulous experiences in the outdoor area which support physical development. They confidently climb, build, ride,
