children and young people since the most recent full inspection
This home was judged good at the last full inspection. At this interim inspection, the home was 'not judged' . The last young person to reside in this home left on 3 August 2015. The registered manager, who is suitably qualified and experienced, continues to manage this and another of the company’s children’s homes. She and the staff continue to work in the other children’s homes owned by the organisation. The manager will resume her management responsibilities for this home once agreement has been secured for a young person to join the home. The manager ensures that the home continues to function and maintains the conditions of its registration, as she visits and checks the home regularly. She ensures that the home remains a safe and hazard-free environment, as she continues to ensure that the electrical, gas and fire equipment are monitored and serviced regularly. Therefore, these have been re-issued. The home has been closed for nine months. The registered manager has indicated that the home will be operational by the end of December 2016, by which time the manager has confirmed that she will have a suitable, experienced and qualified staff team in place. The manager is aware that she must provide Ofsted with an up-to-date statement of purpose identifying a suitably qualified and experienced staff team, and with the updated children’s guide, and inform Ofsted prior to accepting any new placements.

Information about this inspection
Inspectors have looked closely at the experiences and progress of children and young people living in the children's home. Inspectors considered the quality of work and the difference that adults make to the lives of children and young people. They read case files, watched how professional staff work with children, young people and each other and discussed the effectiveness of help and care given to children and young people. Wherever possible, they talked to children, young people and their families. In addition, the inspectors have tried to understand what the children's home knows about how well it is performing, how well it is doing and what difference it is making for the children and young people whom it is trying to help, protect and look after. This inspection focused on the effectiveness of the home and the progress and experiences of children and young people since the most recent full inspection.
