This provision is good
Children are confident learners and make decisions about their play. They ask questions to develop their ideas, for example, which cutters to use as they explore the dough. They create stories well using the animal shapes, showing their good communication skills. The childminder plans activities well and matches these to children's interests, which include parent contributions. She assesses children's progress well and accurately identifies their next steps. Children make good progress from their starting points. The childminder has made steady progress since her last inspection, ensuring she has addressed previous issues promptly. She meets requirements and gains good information from parents about children's care and learning. Children form strong attachments with the childminder in her homely environment. They build solid friendships with others. For example, children show concern when their

It is not yet outstanding because:
The childminder does not always support children to express themselves further in their creative play, to help them describe what they see and feel. Occasionally, the childminder interrupts or over directs children's play with her enthusiasm, which means that children are not always able to finish their ideas and sometimes lose interest.

What the setting needs to do to improve further
To further improve the quality of the early years provision the provider should:

Inspection activities
The inspector observed the quality of teaching as children played inside. The inspector considered the written views of parents. The inspector spoke with the childminder about her understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage requirements, including her knowledge of safeguarding practice and procedure. The inspector sampled documentation, including children's learning diaries and the childminder's self-evaluation.
p.2
Effectiveness of the leadership and management is good
Safeguarding is effective. The childminder has a good understanding of her responsibility to protect children and report any concerns about their welfare. She follows her policies and procedures effectively and accurately records children's daily hours of attendance. There is good partnership working. For example, the childminder works together well with parents to provide consistent approaches to manage behavioural expectations with children. The childminder monitors and develops her practice well. She has regular contact with other early years professionals, which helps her to make changes that improve outcomes for children. For example, she has improved observation and assessment processes to better support children's learning needs.
p.3
Quality of teaching, learning and assessment is good
The childminder provides a broad range of activities and resources to support children's learning. She interacts well with the children, which helps them make connections between their ideas. For example, as they make play-dough animals, she helps children explore similarities and differences between themselves and other animals. Children are imaginative and invite the childminder into their role play. For example, knowing that a friend is poorly, children pretend the doll is their friend, putting them to bed and taking care of them. The childminder questions children well to extend their thinking. Children have a good understanding of how things work, such as pushing the toy vacuum cleaner forwards and backwards, showing their good coordination skills.
p.3
Personal development, behaviour and welfare are good
Children learn to lead healthy lifestyles. For example, they have good opportunities to be outside, learn where vegetables come from and how to care for them. The childminder is a good role model, encouraging young children to learn hygienic practices' such as washing their hands before they eat. The childminder is respectful. For example, when she changes children's nappies, she talks to them throughout, explaining what she is doing to reassure them. Children have a good sense of belonging. They understand routines, such as putting their shoes in the box when they arrive. The childminder supports children well to become independent, such as providing time and encouragement when children try to put their shoes on.
p.3
Outcomes for children are good
Children gain good confidence in their abilities and develop the skills needed for their future learning and eventual move to school. Children concentrate and persevere with self-chosen tasks. For example, they use tools purposefully and safely. Children are good communicators. They enthusiastically create stories and use props in their play.
