p.1
This provision requires improvement. It is not yet good because:
The provider has not completed the procedure to notify Ofsted of significant changes, including the appointment of new trustee members. Children do not make good progress in their learning and development because staff do not always plan effectively for children's individual learning. Children's achievements are not monitored consistently to identify gaps in learning. This includes the progress check for children aged between two and three years. The provider has not taken prompt action to address some key weaknesses in the running of the nursery.
p.1
It has the following strengths
Children enjoy their time in the welcoming nursery. They have opportunities to explore the environment at their own pace. They have ample space indoors and outside, and this allows them to move around freely. Children form strong attachments with key person and make friendships with others. Children take turns and share resources during activities. Children have opportunities to learn about a range of cultures through activities and during their play with resources. The provider encourages the professional development of staff. They attend regular training to improve their skills. The provider works closely with other agencies to ensure children's learning and care needs are addressed.

Inspection activities
The inspector had a tour of the premises with the manager. The inspector observed teaching and learning activities indoors and play activities outside. The inspector carried out a joint observation with the manager. The inspector looked at a sample of policies, children's assessment records and planning documentation. The inspector checked evidence of the suitability and qualifications of staff working with children and discussed the setting's self-evaluation form. The inspector took account of the views of children, staff, parents and carers spoken to on the day of inspection.
p.2
Effectiveness of the leadership and management requires improvement
The provider has not completed the procedure to notify Ofsted of significant changes, such as the change in trustee members. This does not ensure that all checks are completed in a timely manner. The arrangements for safeguarding are effective. The provider has regular discussions with staff about safeguarding issues and they are appropriately informed about their responsibilities to keep children safe. Since the last inspection, the provider has ensured staff have opportunities to visit other settings and observe good practice. Staff have improved their skills in observing children. Self- evaluation has not yet addressed the urgency to complete the progress checks for children aged between two and three years. Staff work generally well with parents to implement strategies that promote children's care. They discuss children's learning and activities on a daily basis.
p.3
Quality of teaching, learning and assessment requires improvement
Staff provide suitable activities and promote children's learning adequately. They provide opportunities for pre-school children to repeat what they know, such as days of the week. They encourage counting, the recognition of colours and shapes. Staff interact positively with children during activities and give praise for effort and achievement. This encourages them and children willingly respond to questions. Staff observe children while they play to note what they can do. However, they do not always use the information to plan well for children's individual learning. Pre-school children with less well-developed language skills do not receive sufficient support to extend their speaking. Staff do not always engage quieter children during activities. Younger children enjoy story time as staff encourage them to choose favourite books and they join in with nursery rhymes. Staff skilfully reshape activities to blend in with children's interests. They substitute a number of words

in the script as suggested imaginatively by the children. This raises children's self-esteem appropriately.
p.3
Personal development, behaviour and welfare require improvement
Several requirements are not met and this means children's well-being is not sufficiently promoted. That said, children are confident and form positive relationships with their key persons. Staff encourage children to take some responsibility for their own care. They choose resources during play activities and select fruit at snack time. Children receive clear messages about healthy eating and play outside daily. They are well behaved and know what is expected of them. They examine textures in the sensory room and learn to keep safe by following rules which ensure they use equipment correctly.
p.3
Outcomes for children require improvement
Although children develop some skills for the next stage in their learning, they do not make good progress overall. Younger children have opportunities to experience settling-in sessions in new rooms before they changeover permanently. Pre-school children develop skills in early numeracy and literacy. Children learn to attend to their personal needs.
