This provision is outstanding
The childminder makes excellent use of her self-evaluation, which includes the views of parents and children. For example, she is uncompromising in her evaluation of her practice. She accurately identifies her training needs and targets improvements that she is confident will have the greatest impact on children's learning. The childminder has extremely high expectations of children and an excellent knowledge of how they learn. Her detailed planning, informed by sharply focused observations and assessments, helps her to challenge children extremely well. The childminder is highly skilled in helping children to form a secure emotional relationship with her. Very young children settle immediately, are at ease and play very happily in the supportive childminder's care. She works effectively together with parents to maintain children's routines and promote their strong sense of belonging. Children make excellent and well-rounded progress from their starting points. They are

Inspection activities
The inspector observed the childminder and children playing indoors and outdoors. The inspector and childminder participated in a joint observation. The inspector reviewed a sample of documentation.
p.2
Effectiveness of the leadership and management is outstanding
The childminder has a highly focused programme of professional development. For example, she completes extensive research and attends regular training to provide the best possible experiences for children. She has made very good use of information gained from a recent workshop on promoting creativity to encourage children to express their own ideas. She aims to continue to explore ways to extend her teaching in this area even further for the youngest children. The childminder builds extremely strong partnerships with parents and her communication with them is exceptional. For example, she provides an extensive monthly newsletter and she shares information daily about children's routines and achievements. Safeguarding is effective. The childminder has an excellent and up-to- date understanding of how to identify and report any concerns about a child.
p.3
Quality of teaching, learning and assessment is outstanding
The childminder is exceptionally good at identifying children's interests and plans flexibly to accommodate these. For example, she encourages all children to make a blossom tree, but when very small children lose interest, she quickly shifts their attention to some technology resources, helping them develop their understanding of the world in a different way. The childminder is extremely skilful in adapting her teaching to ensure all children benefit from each activity. For example, older children develop their imagination while making pretend food for a feast or banquet, while younger children have great fun as they put the pretend food in and out of boxes. Children thoroughly enjoy exploring messy play activities, such as home-made play dough. They use their hands to manipulate the dough and use shape cutters and equipment to cut, 'squish' and create.
p.3
Personal development, behaviour and welfare are outstanding
The childminder provides challenging opportunities for children to learn about taking risks, such as learning to climb safely. She provides limitless and exciting activities to help children to learn about the importance of healthy lifestyles, promoting their physical well- being. For example, they actively explore and hunt for insects and bugs, and talk about the healthy food they are growing in the outdoor area. Children have excellent opportunities to learn about the world around them. For example, they visit a vast range of places, including lavender fields, Chinese supermarkets, play centres and parks.
p.3
Outcomes for children are outstanding
All children make excellent progress in their learning and development. Older children are extremely well-behaved, respectful and polite. For example, they say, 'Thank you for the meal,' after lunch and consistently display excellent manners. All children are extremely confident. For example, they show visitors what they have planted recently in the garden and very proudly show what they have made.
