This provision is good
The provider and manager are ambitious and aim to achieve the highest standards in care and education. Continuous improvements are carefully planned for and well targeted to improve outcomes for children. Staff gain a good picture of each child's development through observations and information obtained from their parents. They notice and record children's interests and use these to extend their learning and plan exciting and purposeful activities, which engage and challenge children very well. Children make good progress. Children settle extremely well and form very close relationships with staff and each other. They rapidly learn about boundaries and acceptable behaviour. Children have an excellent understanding of how to manage their own behaviour and keep themselves safe. The leaders have established effective monitoring of all aspects of the provision and children's progress. Together with staff, they identify gaps in learning and development

of different groups of children and take action to ensure the gaps are rapidly closing.
p.1
It is not yet outstanding because:
Occasionally, staff provide answers too quickly to the questions that they ask children, so children do not have enough time to think for themselves. Staff do not always give children sufficient time to finish an activity at their own pace before requiring them to move on to the next routine or task.
p.1
What the setting needs to do to improve further
To further improve the quality of the early years provision the provider should:

review the organisation of some routines so that children have enough time to finish their chosen activities at their own pace before moving on to the next task enable children to have enough time to develop their thinking and problem-solving skills.

Inspection activities
The inspector observed activities indoors and in the garden. The inspector sampled observations, planning, assessments and registration records. The inspector held conversations with the manager, staff, some parents and children during the inspection. The inspector checked evidence of staff suitability to work with children, including their qualification certificates, and the provider's policies and procedures. The inspector completed a joint observation with the manager.
p.2
Effectiveness of the leadership and management is good
Safeguarding is effective. The manager ensures all staff are suitable to work with children, have a secure understanding of their role and responsibilities, and are aware of how to keep children safe. Staff attend a good range of training courses as part of their ongoing professional development. They make good use of the new knowledge gained and their individual skills to enhance the care and teaching that children receive. Partnerships with parents are exceptional and a particular strength at the setting. Staff value parents enormously as partners. A high priority is placed on working closely with all parents to support children's care and learning. Moreover, parents are fully involved in pre-school life and share their own knowledge with children. For example, they come in weekly to support staff in teaching children new languages.
p.3
Quality of teaching, learning and assessment is good
The quality of teaching is consistently very good throughout the pre-school. Staff use focused, group activities to extend children's knowledge and individual skills. For example, children learn about safety rules and gain practical skills when playing outside in their own 'builder's site' with real equipment, such as safety helmets and bricks. Through activities like this, staff help children to extend their vocabulary, gain social skills, learn how to cooperate and take turns, which prepares them well for their future education. Children particularly enjoy spending time outside doing activities such as planting and exploring muddy areas, which helps them to learn about the natural world.
p.3
Personal development, behaviour and welfare are outstanding
The pre-school is a safe and extremely welcoming place where children have fun and enjoy exploring and learning together. Leaders and staff prioritise the welfare of children and take all steps to ensure they are well supervised and supported throughout the day. Children develop an excellent awareness of risks and danger. For example, they make their own risk assessments of the garden using pictorial checklists and check that it is safe. Staff are excellent role models and have excellent behaviour management strategies in place. Children understand rules and boundaries and respect each other.
p.3
Outcomes for children are good
All children, including those who are learning English as an additional language, make at least good progress. Children show that they are beginning to recognise letters and words as, for example, they find their name cards or days of the week during activities. Children are confident to share their thoughts and are independent in their care routines. For example, at snack time children cut their apples and they discuss healthy and unhealthy foods, which also supports their understanding of healthy lifestyles.
