This provision is good
Children make good progress. The childminder works well with schools and other early years settings children attend, in order to provide consistent support for their learning and development. She helps children build the skills that they need for their future learning. The childminder has high expectations for children. She is eager for the children in her care to progress well and enjoy themselves. She works well with other early years providers to support children's learning and develop her own practice. Children behave well. The childminder is a good role model for children to follow. Children are proud of all they achieve and are eager to share their success with their parents and others. The childminder establishes good routines to help children to grow in independence and curiosity. Children enjoy a good range of experiences. Activities are imaginative and resources are stimulating. helps children build their self-confidence and self-awareness.

It is not yet outstanding because:
The childminder does not fully support parents to share what they know their child can already do when they first start. Although the childminder assesses children's progress, she does not use what she knows to plan as precisely as possible. This means children are not supported to consistently make rapid progress in their learning.

What the setting needs to do to improve further
To further improve the quality of the early years provision the provider should:

Inspection activities
The inspector observed the quality of teaching during activities and assessed the impact this has on children's learning. The inspector completed a joint observation with the childminder. The inspector held discussions with the childminder. He looked at relevant documentation, such as self-evaluation and evidence of the suitability of the childminder and her assistant. The inspector took account of the views of parents.
p.2
Effectiveness of the leadership and management is good
Arrangements for safeguarding are effective. The childminder makes regular use of risk assessments to check and develop children's safety and well-being. She has a strong understanding of her safeguarding and welfare responsibilities. She creates a safe, warm and welcoming environment for children's learning. The childminder reviews and analyses the quality of the provision to make sure it meets children's needs well. She has made good progress since the last inspection and has successfully addressed the weaknesses raised. The childminder observes the practice of her assistant to ensure that they work consistently together to enhance the outcomes for children.
p.3
Quality of teaching, learning and assessment is good
The childminder interacts well with children and helps them to extend their learning and think for themselves. She makes good use of information from the children's school to support them to make good progress, especially in their communication and personal development. The childminder plans purposeful activities to build on children's skills and interests. She teaches children to keep working at the task they have started, such as organising their toy farm animals into groups, to help extend their concentration. The childminder helps children to develop their listening and speaking skills well. She provides many opportunities for children to follow songs and rhymes and listen to stories.
p.3
Personal development, behaviour and welfare are good
Children build strong bonds with the childminder. She sets a very clear example for children to follow. There is a calm, friendly atmosphere and children feel free to make decisions and choose their own toys. There are well-established routines for the safe collection of the children from school, as well as for play, mealtimes and snack time. Children grow in confidence and security. The childminder promotes children's knowledge and understanding of healthy lifestyles and good hygiene procedures well. Children are courteous and develop a good understanding of the consequences of their actions on others. The childminder helps children to be tolerant and thoughtful. They learn to appreciate and celebrate each other's differences and similarities.
p.3
Outcomes for children are good
Children make good progress. They develop the skills they need for their future learning well. For example, babies learn to recognise a wide range of songs and rhymes. Older children develop early reading and writing skills well. The childminder identifies any gaps in children's achievement and takes strong steps to address them. Children respond well to the childminder's carefully modelled speech and thoughtful questions. Children are inquisitive and keen to explore the world around them. Their physical and creative skills are promoted successfully.
