This provision is outstanding
Children enjoy learning in this highly stimulating environment that provides exceptional opportunities for them to develop their exploratory and physical skills. The atmosphere in the nursery is vibrant but calm. Children's behaviour is exemplary. Staff are excellent role models and have high expectations for behaviour. They use praise and encouragement skilfully to promote children's self-esteem to the highest level. Staff foster a happy, caring and nurturing environment where children gain confidence through new learning experiences. Children have an excellent understanding of the wider world and are highly imaginative. They recall their personal experiences and recreate these in their play. Children enthusiastically engage in the extensive range of activities to support their learning. Staff recognise children's interests and use these skilfully to engage children. For example, children become absorbed in their ideas about being at sea as they play

outdoors in a life-size boat. Children's independence is exceptionally well fostered. For example, the very youngest children serve themselves at mealtimes and older children lay the table and wash their plates afterwards. Children learn about healthy eating as they enjoy healthy, home- cooked food. The delegation of staff is highly effective. For example, there are two members of staff outdoors at all times to fully support and enhance children's learning experiences when they choose to play outside.

continue to enhance the already excellent development opportunities for staff, in order to ensure they continually improve their knowledge and skills and maintain the outstanding quality of the provision.

Inspection activities
The inspector observed children's activities, both inside and outside. The inspector spoke to staff and children at appropriate times during the inspection. The inspector carried out a joint observation of children's activities with the manager of the nursery. The inspector looked at a sample of documents, including the setting's policies and procedures, risk assessments and children's progress records. The inspector took account of parents' views which were obtained in person.
p.2
Effectiveness of the leadership and management is outstanding
Safeguarding is effective. Staff have a highly comprehensive understanding of what to do if they have concerns about a child in their care. Staff create a consistently interesting learning environment that is welcoming for children and their parents. The leadership team is dedicated to achieving the very best outcomes for children. Managers support staff well. They are currently exploring ways they can further develop staff's expertise by supporting them to reflect even more on their already excellent teaching skills. Leaders fully take into account the views and comments of staff, parents and children to continually provide and maintain an excellent service.
p.3
Quality of teaching, learning and assessment is outstanding
Teaching is excellent. Staff closely observe children's interests and achievements and carefully plan for the next steps in their learning. Staff are knowledgeable and highly skilled. They provide children with stimulating experiences and explanations that extend their knowledge and promote their curiosity. For example, children learn how to carefully handle a bearded dragon. They talk about what the dragon feels like, how he keeps warm and what colours they see. Staff are skilled at asking children probing questions that encourage them to find out more information. For example, children look at a map of the world so they can recall which country the dragon comes from. Staff skilfully build on what children already know and encourage them to share their knowledge. For example, one child recalls that monkeys come from Madagascar. Staff use excellent questioning techniques to encourage children to think, make decisions and learn from their

Personal development, behaviour and welfare are outstanding
The welcoming and immensely well-resourced environment ensures that children are very eager to learn and discover new experiences. Children learn about the wider world as they freely access and explore the outdoors and learn about animals from all over the world. Relationships in the nursery are exceptional. Staff devote their time and attention to meeting the children's needs. Children's confidence is very well promoted. For example, staff praise toddlers' achievements as they roll out pastry using rolling pins and use spoons to scoop out jam for the pastry cases. Younger children are individually supported by staff as they use sponges, rollers and their hands to paint. Children learn to value and celebrate each other's achievements and are kind and considerate to one another.
p.3
Outcomes for children are outstanding
All children make excellent progress and any gaps in their learning close quickly. They develop high levels of responsibility, take great pride in their achievements and are responsible and caring. Children's literacy skills are very well promoted. They write and recognise their names and confidently recognise numerals. They count, confidently solve problems and develop a very broad understanding of the wider world. Children benefit fully from the exceptional support between home and nursery. They flourish in all aspects of their learning and are completely ready for their move on to school.
