This provision is good
Children make good progress in relation to their starting points. The childminder uses observations and assessments effectively to monitor children's development and help them achieve the next steps in their learning. The childminder works efficiently with her co-childminder and assistant to meet children's needs consistently and to build warm and trusting relationships with children. Together, they supervise children closely at all times to keep them safe. The childminder keeps parents informed of their children's progress, routines and any significant events throughout the day through discussion and by completing records. The childminder evaluates the quality of children's care and their learning effectively to identify and make ongoing improvements.
p.1
It is not yet outstanding because:
On occasions, the childminder does not give children sufficient time to think and respond to questions, to promote their speech and language skills even further. The childminder does not consistently obtain information from all parents about their children's development at home, to extend children's learning further.
p.1
What the setting needs to do to improve further
To further improve the quality of the early years provision the provider should:

What the setting needs to do to improve further
extend the opportunities for children to think and respond to questions in their own time strengthen partnerships with parents by encouraging all parents to share information regularly about their children's learning at home.
p.2
Inspection activities
The inspector observed activities and the quality of the childminder's interactions with the children. The inspector observed the management of children's care routines. The inspector looked at children's assessment records. The inspector sampled the childminder's documentation and discussed her knowledge of the requirements of the Early Years Foundation Stage. The inspector observed the childminder working with her co-childminder and assistant, and reviewed feedback from parents.
p.2
Effectiveness of the leadership and management is good
Safeguarding is effective. The childminder has a clear understanding of her role and responsibility to promote children's welfare. This includes how to respond in the event of concerns. The childminder attends professional events and completes her own research to extend the quality of her teaching and to include new learning projects for children. She monitors the quality of her assistant's teaching successfully and ensures her suitability. The childminder promotes children's safety very well. For example, she completes risk assessments for all areas of the provision and teaches children how to keep safe in her home and on outings.
p.3
Quality of teaching, learning and assessment is good
The childminder uses good teaching skills to plan children's learning accurately and to help them achieve their next steps for learning. She encourages children to create their own ideas and interacts with them well to provide support and challenge. For example, she shows children how to use tools in creative activities to encourage them to learn new skills and to explore their ideas further. She uses mathematical language in children's play to help them learn about numbers, shapes and sizes. The childminder responds quickly to children's ideas to keep them engaged, such as putting on music from children's home countries to extend their interest in dancing.
p.3
Personal development, behaviour and welfare are good
The childminder nurtures children's well-being effectively. She provides younger children with consistent routines to help them feel secure and with time to cuddle up and play in quiet corners of the summerhouse and garden. The childminder supports children successfully in developing healthy lifestyles. For example, children enjoy happy and sociable mealtimes together where they help to prepare their own healthy meals and snacks. Children move freely between the summerhouse and garden throughout the day to allow them to learn in the outdoor environment when they choose. This provides them with a wealth of exciting resources and physical activities to promote their health and all- round development.
p.3
Outcomes for children are good
Children make good progress in their learning and development from their starting points. They join in activities with enthusiasm and confidently create their own ideas. Children are developing good skills for their future learning and moving on to school. For example, children manage tasks for themselves and show a willingness to help others. They develop positive attitudes and social skills from good role models and behave well.
