This monitoring visit

The home was judged as declined effectiveness at the previous interim inspection in March 2016. At the previous inspection six statutory requirements were made. A compliance notice was issued on 18 th March 2016. This was in relation to the quality and purpose of care standard. The purpose of the monitoring visit is to review the action taken to comply with the notice. Following the previous inspection the registered manager produced an action plan and submitted it to Ofsted. The plan documented the work the manager recommended to redress the requirements and the compliance notice. The monitoring visit included meeting with the registered manager, reviewing the action plan submitted to Ofsted and scrutinising records held within the home. The inspector found that the registered manager with the support of his senior management team had taken swift action to address the compliance notice. Further to this, evidence found during the course of this monitoring visit confirms

the manager has successfully met all the requirements. Records of a number of key worker sessions with the young person living in the home confirmed the manager had shared with him the outcome of the previous Ofsted inspection. There is good evidence of the how the manager captured the young person’s views in relation to the compliance notice and the subsequent requirements and further reminded the young person of the complaint process. In doing so the young person is empowered, consulted with and included in the development of his home. Further to this, transition plans, and a meeting with the local authority reinforced how the young person is involved in all decision making. The manager has taken time through team meetings and supervision sessions with his staff team to reflect and learn from the previous inspection. The Statement of Purpose is up to date and reminds staff and stakeholders of the ethos and

philosophy of the home. The manager confirms that no young people have been admitted to the home since the previous inspection, the young person and staff team are aware of the home’s registration and therefore the compliance notice has been met. The manager confirms that while the current young person resides in the home there are no plans to change the registration of the home. A further full inspection will be carried out in due course to assess the home’s ongoing development and progress, the impact on the young person, and the young person’s outcomes.
