This provision is good
The childminder provides imaginative activities which she uses to inspire children to learn. They make good progress in all areas of development and are encouraged to enjoy learning. The childminder understands and successfully implements the requirements of the early years foundation stage. She knows how to keep children safe and has robust policies and procedures in place. Children form good relationships and are happy and confident. They are encouraged to be healthy and they are being taught good manners. The childminder uses dance, music and trips to playgroup to help children develop good social skills. The childminder is committed to improvement and has addressed all actions from the previous inspection. She undertakes regular, high-quality training to help her support children in all areas.
p.1
It is not yet outstanding because:
The childminder's self-evaluation process is not yet linked to clear improvement strategies for the quality of teaching. Sometimes, the childminder does not model correct pronunciation and vocabulary, which does not promote children's knowledge of language as well as possible.
p.1
What the setting needs to do to improve further
To further improve the quality of the early years provision the provider should:

p.2
Inspection activities
The inspector observed the quality of teaching during activities and assessed the impact these had on children's learning. The inspector completed several observations and evaluated one of them with the childminder. The inspector looked at relevant documentation, such as policies, the childminder's self- evaluation and training certificates. The inspector saw a range of parent feedback and the ongoing assessments of children's learning.
p.2
Effectiveness of the leadership and management is good
The childminder works hard to provide the children with high-quality care and interesting learning activities. The arrangements for safeguarding are effective. The childminder attends safeguarding courses and risk assessments are comprehensive to help ensure children are kept safe. The childminder keeps up-to-date records and policies and understands how to respond if she has any concerns about children's welfare. Relationships are very good with parents, which creates a consistent, family approach to planning for the progress and safety of all children.
p.3
Quality of teaching, learning and assessment is good
The childminder prepares interesting activities which inspire the children to learn and explore. She provides a large selection of high quality age-appropriate toys and resources which are used to encourage purposeful play. She uses music, dance and physical play particularly well to help children to gain confidence and to enjoy learning. The childminder asks good questions which help the children to explore their understanding. The childminder exploits the learning potential of everyday interactions well and children develop a love for learning and exploring ideas. Systems for tracking and assessing children's progress are accurate and are used to keep parents well informed about their child's development. The childminder also accesses playgroups and local activities which enrich the children's experiences well. For example, they have access to a wide range of physical play equipment and other children to interact with.
p.3
Personal development, behaviour and welfare are good
Children are encouraged to develop healthy eating habits. They are taught to serve their own portions and help one another with snack choices. They have regular access to plenty of space for running, climbing and dancing and they are encouraged to develop their physical skills. Children are happy, confident and respect adults and each other. The caring and nurturing support from the childminder enables the children to form good relationships with each other. They play together happily and are supported to develop their independence and social skills well. Safety routines are well established and children are taught to keep themselves safe, both indoors and outside. Parents are very positive about the quality of the childminder's nurturing care and support for their children.
p.3
Outcomes for children are good
Children make good progress across all areas of learning. Their physical skills are particularly well developed by the time they leave the setting. Children develop confidence and independence and are prepared well for their next stage of learning, including becoming ready for school.
