This provision is outstanding
The childminder provides excellent opportunities for parents to be involved with their children's learning and provides parents with very regular updates on their children's learning and development. The childminder is a skilled teacher and helps children to make outstanding progress. She uses highly effective monitoring to identify where children may be slow to develop key skills and puts in place specific programmes to help them catch up. The childminder is expert at developing children's language and communication skills, for example, she supports them to learn new words and offer their ideas. The childminder provides a stimulating environment and an extensive range of resources that capture the children's curiosity, interest and imagination. Children display exemplary behaviour and respect for others. The childminder and co- childminder are impressive role models. The childminder follows an excellent programme of professional development. For

Inspection activities
The inspector observed the childminder's teaching and its impact on the children's learning. The inspector checked documents, including the childminder's background suitability checks and training certificates. The inspector sampled the childminder's planning documents and discussed children's individual learning and development. The inspector held discussions with the childminder about her self-evaluation processes. The inspector sampled the childminder's policies and procedures, including those relating to safeguarding.
p.2
Effectiveness of the leadership and management is outstanding
The childminder is highly reflective and keeps fully up to date with new legislation. The childminder and her co-childminder meet regularly to assess their practice and resources to further develop the exceptional provision. Children's individual needs are expertly catered for. For example, through precise monitoring, the childminder recently identified a benefit to providing more equipment for children who are not yet confident walkers. Safeguarding is effective. The childminder and her co-childminder fully understand how to identify concerns about children's welfare and know how to report any concerns.
p.3
Quality of teaching, learning and assessment is outstanding
The childminder uses excellent techniques to develop children's learning and development in all areas. She regularly takes the children to parks, on outings and attends local toddler groups and toy libraries. Planning very precisely reflects each child's individual learning and care needs. For example, the childminder has provided a large doll's house with play characters to support children who have shown a particular interest in imaginative play. The childminder has developed highly effective strategies to liaise closely with other settings that children attend. For example, she uses a three-way conversation diary, which enables parents to take part. Teaching is consistently of the highest quality. Children are constantly exploring, often take a lead in their learning and show that they are eager to learn and 'have a go' at new challenges.
p.3
Personal development, behaviour and welfare are outstanding
The childminder celebrates the children's achievements. Children receive excellent encouragement to learn about safety and hygiene. For example, they hold on for stability when using the slide and routinely wash their hands before and after eating. Children attend local groups, helping to develop their social skills. Children have many excellent opportunities to be active and explore the outdoors. They eat nutritious snacks and meals, although the childminder does not make the most of opportunities to support them to understand the benefits of healthy eating. Children are very well prepared for their future learning. The childminder develops close links with staff at the schools children are due to attend and takes children to visit. She also transforms the imaginative play area into a classroom to help children explore any anxieties or excitement through play. The childminder gives children a wide range of experiences that promotes their understanding

of cultures and communities beyond their own.
p.3
Outcomes for children are outstanding
Children are extremely happy in the childminder's care. They laugh and play together exceedingly well and thoroughly enjoy taking part in the activities the childminder provides as well as learning through their own exploration and following their own ideas.
