This provision is good
Leaders have ambition and drive. They have devised a good development plan to guide improvements and to raise achievement further. Adults' care and attention to children's personal development and well-being are outstanding. As a result, children develop excellent attitudes to learning. Children are happy and confident because staff take great care to nurture their social skills in a warm family atmosphere. Children are making good progress in their learning and development because overall the quality of teaching is strong, and there is an emphasis on developing children's communication skills. Children enjoy playing and learning in a lively and stimulating environment, inside and outside. This helps them make good progress in their learning.
p.1
It is not yet outstanding because:
Leaders have not refined their systems for monitoring staff practice to strengthen further staff knowledge and skills, to help children make the best progress possible in their learning. Staff do not always recognise opportunities to extend children's learning in mathematics.

What the setting needs to do to improve further
To further improve the quality of the early years provision the provider should:

p.2
Inspection activities
The inspector observed activities inside and outside, including the quality of teaching. The inspector talked to the children, and held discussions with several members of staff at appropriate times during the inspection. The inspector carried out a joint observation of staff practice and discussed this with the owner and manager. The inspector looked at a selection of documentation, children's assessment information, policies, procedures, and evidence of the suitability and qualifications of staff. The inspector took into account the views of parents on the inspection day.
p.2
Effectiveness of the leadership and management is good
The owner and the recently appointed manager are well qualified, have high expectations and are proud of the nursery. They work closely with a wide range of professionals, and there is a strong drive for improvement guided by a precisely focused development plan. Leaders check staff practice through appraisals and supervisions, and are working together to raise the quality of teaching and learning further by focusing on monitoring staff practice. Assessments of children's achievements are good, and leaders are guiding staff to ensure that they identify children's next steps in learning. As a result, teaching is improving and helping children to make even better progress. Staff actively promote equality and diversity through a wide range of enjoyable activities. Safeguarding is effective. Staff have a secure understanding of their roles and responsibilities in this regard. They are fully aware of the reporting procedures in the event of a child protection
p.3
Quality of teaching, learning and assessment is good
Overall, the quality of teaching is good. Staff provide a wide range of activities which often enable children to make good progress. However, sometimes they miss opportunities to extend children's mathematical learning. Staff enthusiastically involve children in creative and imaginative play. For example, during outside play staff and children had lots of fun acting out a favourite story about a bear. The children are confident and imaginative, and can express their feelings. Staff cater well for children's individual needs. Relationships are strong. Children have high levels of self-esteem and the social skills required for the next stage of their education.
p.3
Personal development, behaviour and welfare are outstanding
Children's well-being and personal development are central to the 'Peekaboo family'. Adults are excellent role models and skilfully show children how to behave towards one another. This has a significant impact on their behaviour, physical well-being and learning. Children learn to be kind and helpful, and to respect one another. For example, staff encouraged children to work together when drawing a road map on paper on the floor. Children were able to share, take turns and value each other's contributions. Children know about simple hygiene routines and that germs can make them ill. They develop important skills for future learning, such as confidence and independence.
p.3
Outcomes for children are good
Children are very happy and enjoy their time at nursery. They show this in their great enthusiasm for taking part in activities. Children have positive attitudes towards learning which give them the self-assurance to take on challenges.
