Children were thrilled and showed high levels of motivation to learn. The childminder tracks children's progress accurately, building on their interests to extend learning. For example, she has observed children's love for books, and prepares exciting activities related to stories. She reads to them as part of their routine, and encourages children to repeat key words and actions. Children responded enthusiastically to a story about a caterpillar and had fun looking for real food items to promote their understanding further. The childminder encourages children to eat a balanced and nutritious diet. For example, she introduces new and healthy foods through 'food tasting' linked to favourite stories, and discussions about how fruits and vegetables grow. Children enjoy lots of fresh air and participate in active play.

p.3

Children are extremely settled and happy in this nurturing environment. They move around safely and confidently, choosing resources and activities that challenge them. Children learn to behave extremely well and show high levels of concentration for their age. They know how to share and respect their resources. Overall, children make outstanding progress and acquire extremely strong skills for their future learning.
