The provision does not meet requirements
When completing risk assessments, the provider does not identify all hazards and take reasonable steps to remove or minimise these. Stairs are accessible to children and the outdoor play area is not secure due to a gap in the gate. There are no procedures for ensuring that fire detection and control equipment remains in working order. The provider has not devised emergency evacuation procedures. A fire exit sign on the first floor is missing. The provider has failed to ensure that the nursery room and children's bathroom remain fit for purpose. These rooms are not maintained in an appropriate state of repair or decoration and the premises are exceptionally cold. Furthermore, the kitchen is not clean enough and not currently suitable for the hygienic preparation of food. The provider, who is also the designated person to take lead responsibility for safeguarding children in the nursery, does not have a secure understanding of the local

guidance and procedures to follow where concerns arise about a child. The provider has failed to ensure that there is at least one person who has a current paediatric first-aid certificate on site and she does not hold public liability insurance. The provider has not notified Ofsted of the changes to the nursery's telephone number as required. The provider understands how to help children build positive relationships with others and learn to value and appreciate difference. She also understands how to positively manage children's behaviour and help them to become confident, independent and keen learners in readiness for school. The provider has a suitable understanding of the importance of working in partnership with parents to help children settle and promote continuity in their care and learning.
p.1
The provision does not meet requirements
There were no children present when this inspection took place. The findings in this report are based on evidence gathered from discussions with those who care for the children and an inspection of the premises, equipment and relevant documentation. Where there are no children present, no judgement is made on the quality of the early years provision as there is no reliable evidence on which to assess its impact on children. The report states whether the provider continues to meet the requirements of registration.
