This provision is good
The quality of teaching is good. Children spend their time engaged in purposeful and stimulating activities tailored for their individual learning. The childminder adapts activities very well to ensure children of all ages and abilities benefit. The childminder undertakes ongoing assessments and closely monitors children's individual learning. She provides challenging experiences that build on children's interests. All children make good progress for the next stage in their learning. The childminder is committed to providing a quality service and has addressed recommendations from her previous inspection. She uses the feedback from her local authority and seeks feedback from parents to develop her provision further. Children receive consistent praise and recognition for their achievements. They display good behaviour, confidence and high levels of self-esteem. The childminder effectively teaches children about the community around them.

Inspection activities
The inspector spoke to the childminder and children throughout the inspection, when appropriate. She observed children engaged in play with the childminder. The inspector sampled relevant documentation, including children's records, self- evaluation processes, and the range of information shared with parents. The inspector observed the quality of teaching during various activities. The inspector looked at areas of the home used for childminding, including the range of play materials and equipment. The inspector took into account written feedback from parents made available during the inspection.
p.2
Effectiveness of the leadership and management is good
Safeguarding is effective. The childminder has a secure understanding of the steps to follow should she have concerns about a child's welfare. The childminder has a good range of policies and procedures, which she uses well to underpin her work, to ensure children remain safe and secure. She conducts detailed risk assessments; these cover all aspects of the childminder's home, outings, and specific activities. The childminder is committed to further professional development. For example, she attends training to enhance her understanding of child development and children's welfare. The childminder keeps parents regularly informed about their children's development and care needs. For example, she makes good use of daily conversations, the exchange of written information, and carries out regular reviews.
p.3
Quality of teaching, learning and assessment is good
The childminder's good knowledge and experience of how children learn enable her to observe and make accurate assessments. The childminder interacts well with children while they play, and uses close supervision to focus and engage their attention. The childminder extends children's understanding of the world. For example, she responds well to children's questions while they play with artic animals that she places in ice. Children effectively develop their interest in early reading. For example, children request a particular story while they have a snack or when sitting down in the cosy book area. The childminder makes the most of adult-led play experiences, such as to extend and build on children's vocabulary and language skills.
p.3
Personal development, behaviour and welfare are good
Children are very happy, confident and settled in the childminder's care. Settling-in processes are gradual and effectively support children to develop an emotional bond with the childminder. For example, children receive warm hugs, and babies are snuggled lovingly as the childminder settles them for a sleep. The childminder is a good role model and promotes positive behaviour. For example, mealtimes are a calm, social and relaxed experience for all ages, where children are eager to share experiences. The childminder supports infants to feed themselves, and children learn about healthy choices, such as foods that are good for them. The childminder knows how to enhance children's learning experiences. For example, she takes children to a variety of groups and venues in the community to develop their social skills and extend their outdoor physical activities.
p.3
Outcomes for children are good
Children of all ages develop good independence. They learn to make choices, particularly about their play. Children show an eagerness to learn new skills and confidently approach the childminder, such as to request activities of particular interest.
