She supports her assistant extremely well to ensure she fully understands her role and responsibilities. The childminder is highly effective in monitoring children's development to identify and rapidly close any gaps in their learning. The childminder makes extensive use of training and research to improve her practice and that of her assistant. Quality of teaching, learning and assessment is outstanding

The childminder uses her extensive skills to provide an outstanding balance of activities. For example, children made pictures using a wide range of resources. They had lots of time and space to make their own creations and use different resources to test their ideas. The childminder's extraordinary care ensures the children feel highly valued and very quickly develop self- assurance.

p.3
