This provision is outstanding
The childminder provides a rich and stimulating environment. Children are very eager to join in and they show high levels of concentration. They are highly motivated to learn and make excellent progress from their starting points. The childminder has a comprehensive system to closely monitor and track children's progress. She quickly identifies any gaps in development early and provides exceptional levels of support to help children be ready for the next stage in their learning. Children form highly positive relationships and secure attachments with the childminder. For instance, they are confident to ask her for help when needed. This supports their emotional well-being highly effectively. The childminder is highly effective in teaching children how to keep themselves safe. For instance, children spontaneously look for any risks when using the outdoor play equipment. The childminder provides exceptional opportunities to involve parents in their children's

learning. For example, she provides 'extending learning packs' with activities for parents to complete with their children at home. Inspection activities
The inspector observed the quality of teaching and the impact this has on children's learning and development. The inspector viewed all the premises used for childminding. The inspector viewed a range of documentation, including suitability checks and children's progress records. The inspector held discussions with the childminder at appropriate times throughout the inspection. The inspector spoke to children.
p.2
Effectiveness of the leadership and management is outstanding
Safeguarding is effective. The childminder is extremely confident about the signs that would cause her concern about a child's welfare and the processes to follow. She sets concise targets for development and effectively uses the views of parents and children in the self-evaluation process. This helps her to sustain the high-quality practice and excellent achievement levels for all children. Parents are exceptionally happy with the service that the childminder offers. They comment that she provides 'an outstanding environment' and 'always goes the extra mile'.
p.3
Quality of teaching, learning and assessment is outstanding
The childminder consistently challenges and extends children's learning to help them make rapid progress. For example, she uses complex mathematical language and questions to help children think about and solve problems that they encounter in their play. Children think about what pieces of train track they need to ensure the train will go all the way round and how to avoid two trains crashing. The childminder constantly extends their learning. For example, she asks children how the train will get up the hill and uses words such as 'forwards' and 'backwords' to describe the movement of the train. The childminder uses her exceptional teaching to encourage children's literacy skills. For example, children learn to recognise and sound out letters that they find written on eggs hidden in shredded paper. She skilfully adapts the activity to build effectively on their understanding, such as linking the letters to their written name.
p.3
Personal development, behaviour and welfare are outstanding
The childminder constantly asks children questions to extend their understanding of how to keep themselves healthy and safe. For example, she asks children why they need to wash their fruit before eating it. The childminder recognises when they are unsure of the answer and adapts the question to ask why they wash their hands. Children quickly learn to make the connection between their hygiene routines and the importance of washing fruit before eating to stay healthy. The childminder provides extensive opportunities for children to learn about the world around them. However, she does not always take every opportunity to strengthen their understanding of each other's backgrounds and cultures.
p.3
Outcomes for children are outstanding
Children make consistently high rates of progress and are exceptionally prepared for their move to school. They make excellent progress in their mathematical development, such as identifying rhombus, triangle and diamond shapes in the environment. Children are extremely confident and talk about their family and experiences outside of the setting. Children are exceptionally polite and their behaviour is exemplary.
