This provision is outstanding
Children spend their time purposefully. They are eager to join in with stimulating well- planned activities that support them in acquiring the skills they need for future learning and school. Children engage with staff extremely well. Staff consistently ask probing questions during their play and this is one example of how children are continually encouraged to think further. Partnerships with parents and carers are outstanding and enhance all aspects of children's overall care and well-being. Parents are extremely involved in their children's time at pre-school and speak very highly of all staff. Parents contribute to their children's learning, which starts with the sharing of where their children are in their development when they first start at the pre-school. Staff place an extremely sharp focus on children's communication and language development, including those who speak English as an additional language. During

Inspection activities
The inspector spoke to children and staff at appropriate times throughout the inspection. She also viewed a range of children's learning profiles. The inspector held a meeting with the pre-school leader. She looked at relevant documentation, such as the pre-school's policies and procedures. She also viewed evidence of the suitability of committee members and staff working in the pre-school. The inspector spoke to a number of parents during the inspection and took account of other parent's views in writing. The inspector reviewed the provider's self-evaluation record and discussed other methods of reflective practice. The inspector observed a planned activity and jointly evaluated this with the provider. The inspector observed the quality of teaching during activities indoors and outdoors, and assessed the impact this has on children's learning.
p.2
Effectiveness of the leadership and management is outstanding
The leader and her staff team are inspirational in their pursuit for children to reach the highest levels of achievement. Opportunities for staff to extend their professional development are excellent. Weekly staff meetings and regular supervision and appraisal meetings support the well-qualified staff team in evaluating their practice to drive improvement. All staff complete a self-evaluation of their own practice before appraisal and the leader is appraised by all staff alongside the committee. The leader monitors staff practice exceptionally well and staff observe each other confidently to discuss and improve practice overall. The arrangements for safeguarding are effective. All staff are extremely vigilant in protecting children in their care. They listen to what children say. They have close professional relationships with other setting and agencies, and ensure their safeguarding knowledge is consistently updated. All new legislative changes are

implemented immediately to ensure that requirements are met at all times.
p.3
Quality of teaching, learning and assessment is outstanding
Planning is exceedingly precise to incorporate children's individual next steps in learning. Activities are adapted exceptionally well to meet children's differing capabilities. All children are challenged exceptionally well. They are extremely confident to problem solve and work things out independently as they create their own castles. Older children skilfully teach younger children how to use a range of equipment, such as hole punchers and tape dispensers. Children thrive as they enjoy pre-school topics, such as space. They engage with the current theme which incorporates princes and princesses and is linked to the pre- school's history topic. Children demonstrate excellent physical skills as they dress and undress in their costumes. They show extremely good imaginative skills as they explore the castle home corner and develop different characters as they play. Excellent monitoring of children's development identifies gaps in progress that are rapidly narrowed. However,

the leader acknowledges that refining the system for assessing progress will give a clearer picture of how well specific groups of children are achieving.
p.3
Personal development, behaviour and welfare are outstanding
Children's behaviour is exemplary. Their personal, social and emotional development is exceptionally well promoted by warm and welcoming staff. Children's health is significantly enhanced by the staff's consistent implementation of robust policies, procedures and practice. High standards of care and hygiene practice support the personal care needs of all children. Staff provide children with a safe and secure environment where the foundations for their future learning are extremely well promoted. Children build strong relationships and develop friendships with staff and children.
p.3
Outcomes for children are outstanding
All children make excellent progress in every area of learning. They thrive in the outside environment. They interact with staff as they play games, and are extremely excited as they explore the well-equipped outside area looking for hidden pictures of eggs. Children show extreme kindness to their peers. For example, older children deliberately seek out younger children and support them in finding the eggs so they do not miss out.
