She ensures that children of all ages and abilities are able to participate. The childminder very effectively supports all children in individual play and extends their thinking and learning. She is particularly successful in promoting children's communication and language skills. For example, she questions children skilfully, listens to them as they play and gives them clear explanations to improve their learning.

p.3

The childminder gives children excellent messages about the importance of physical exercise. She provides a stimulating, welcoming environment, indoors and outdoors. Children are highly motivated and interested. The childminder is extremely effective in supporting children to become independent in managing their own personal needs. For example, children wash their own hands and use the toilet independently. In addition, they are also very confident to complete tasks such as buttering bread and preparing their own snacks. The childminder places a strong emphasis on helping children to learn to keep themselves safe. For example, older children know to hold on to the buggy as they are out walking and learn about crossing the road safely. Children show very high levels of concentration as they listen to the childminder and each other. The childminder works exceptionally well with parents to develop children's learning and development. The
