This provision is good
The childminder is extremely self-motivated and passionate about providing a good quality service for children and their parents. She is dedicated and very reflective. She seeks the views of local playgroups, parents and children to help evaluate her practice and provision. The childminder gives priority to safeguarding children from harm. She takes responsibility to ensure children are protected and that the learning environment supports children's understanding of how to keep themselves safe. The childminder provides an exceptional range of learning experiences for children. She expertly organises activities and outings to promote all aspects of their learning. The childminder works well in partnership with parents and other early years providers and professionals, which helps her to make sure that all children are well supported. Children are happy, keen to learn and settled in the childminder's home. This is because

they quickly establish warm relationships with the childminder.

It is not yet outstanding because:
The childminder does not currently make the most of information she has on children's development to accurately identify areas where a child may benefit from even more precise support. The childminder does not always make the best use of professional development opportunities to further raise the quality of her teaching to an outstanding level.

Inspection activities
The inspector observed the quality of teaching during activities indoors and assessed the impact this has on children's learning. The inspector completed a joint observation with the childminder. The inspector looked at relevant documentation, such as, the childminder's policies and procedures, children's learning journeys and evidence of the suitability of people living in household. The inspector spoke to a small selection of parents during the inspection and took account of their views.
p.2
Effectiveness of the leadership and management is good
The childminder demonstrates a strong commitment to delivering the highest-quality care for children and their parents. She is dedicated to her role and her highly reflective practice is embedded in all activities. Arrangements for safeguarding are effective. The childminder has sound knowledge and is confident about reporting any concerns to relevant services. Risk assessments are carried out to minimise hazards and regular fire drills help children to know how to stay safe. Partnerships with parents are strong. Parents are regularly invited to discuss children's progress and achievements.
p.3
Quality of teaching, learning and assessment is good
The childminder interacts and responds well to children during play. Her teaching skills are good. Younger children enjoy the close interaction as the childminder gets on the floor, making eye contact and responding to their babble. Children are supported well to find out about the world in which they live. The childminder regularly takes children to different groups in the local community, such as a music group and exercise groups. This helps children to socialise and learn to mix with different people. Furthermore, the childminder provides a rich assortment of activities and toys which are well organised in her two playrooms. She supports children's emerging independence as they chose where they want to play. This helps encourage children's motivation for learning. Children are making good progress and are well prepared for the next stage in their learning.
p.3
Personal development, behaviour and welfare are good
The childminder finds out lots of information about children's individual needs and development during settling-in periods. This helps the family and children to form trusting relationships with the childminder from the start. Communication with parents is tailored to their preferred methods. Consequently, information is regularly shared between the childminder and parents to further support children's learning at home. The childminder provides lots of opportunities for children to have fresh air and exercise. She makes good use of her garden and local community to promote all aspects of children's learning. The garden is freely accessible and children can chose if they would like to continue their learning outside. This helps the childminder to match her teaching to children's different styles of learning. Children behave well. The childminder has clear, age-appropriate expectations of them. She has house rules that are explained to older children. Younger
