This provision is good
The childminder provides a welcoming and homely environment. Children enjoy extremely nurturing and caring relationships with the childminder. She engages in very sensitive care practices and is extremely attentive to the needs of babies and young children, meaning they are happy, settled and emotionally very secure in their surroundings. The childminder knows the children in her care well and offers an informal, relaxed approach to learning. She provides activities that interest and engage the children, to build on their learning effectively. Children make good progress, so they are well prepared for the next stage in their learning. The childminder makes very good use of natural resources. She uses these to provide a wide range of imaginative and enticing activities for babies and children to explore. From an early age, children are curious, motivated to investigate and approach their learning with enthusiasm.

Inspection activities
The inspector observed the quality of teaching during activities indoors and assessed the impact this has on children's learning. The inspector spoke with the childminder and children at appropriate times during the inspection and jointly evaluated a focused activity with the childminder. The inspector looked at relevant documentation, such as records of children's learning and a selection of policies and other records. The inspector checked evidence of the suitability and qualifications of the childminder and viewed her self-evaluation and improvement plan. The inspector took account of the views of parents provided through written testimonials.
p.2
Effectiveness of the leadership and management is good
The well qualified and experienced childminder has a good understanding of how children learn and how to support them to make consistently good progress. She listens to and takes account of the views of parents. They fully appreciate the childminder's care for their children. They also comment extremely positively on the interesting activities and outings that she organises to support their learning and development. Arrangements for safeguarding are effective. Well organised and detailed policies and procedures support the childminder's good practice. She has a secure understanding of child protection procedures and her responsibility to keep children safe from harm. The childminder constantly reflects on her practice and strives to improve her provision.
p.3
Quality of teaching, learning and assessment is good
The childminder uses her training and experience successfully to plan a broad and balanced range of experiences that entices children's learning. She organises the environment well, providing resources at children's level. This encourages babies to reach and move towards their favourite toys to help them develop their physical skills. The childminder uses her lively interactions well to support children's emerging language skills. She provides a narrative for children's play, names pictures children point to in books and encourages young children's attempts to communicate. She sensitively repeats words back so that they can hear them pronounced correctly. Babies explore everyday objects and natural materials, promoting their sensory development. They show pride in their achievements, giggling happily and turning to the childminder for approval. The childminder uses every opportunity to extend children's learning by introducing numbers,

She develops their confidence and self-esteem extremely well, using every opportunity to encourage them. The childminder is extremely responsive to the children's needs and sensitive to babies' moods and behaviours.
