This provision is good
The childminder has taken steps to address the recommendation set at her last inspection. For example, she has effectively used the self-evaluation process to reflect and continually improve the provision and children's outcomes. Parents are kept up to date regarding their children's learning. They have regular opportunities to share information about their children's progress at home, to provide a consistent approach to children's development and well-being. The childminder provides a wide range of opportunities and experiences to promote children's learning and development. For example, children enjoy outings, such as visits to toddler groups, which help them to develop their social skills. Children enjoy their play and show an eagerness to learn. The childminder joins in with their play, sensitively supporting and encouraging them. Children make good progress in their learning.
p.1
It is not yet outstanding because:
The childminder does not always use her observations of children's play promptly, to plan precise activities that help them progress at a faster pace. The childminder misses some opportunities to encourage younger children to learn and say new words, to extend their early language development.

What the setting needs to do to improve further
To further improve the quality of the early years provision the provider should:

Inspection activities
The inspector sampled a range of documentation, including the childminder's training certificates, insurance policy, records of attendance, risk assessments and the safeguarding policy. The inspector held discussions with the childminder abouther daily teaching and care practices. The inspector completed a joint observation with the childminder, and observed the quality of care, teaching and children's learning. The inspector looked at the areas of the home used for childminding purposes.
p.2
Effectiveness of the leadership and management is good
Safeguarding is effective. The childminder has a secure understanding of safeguarding issues and can confidently recognise child protection concerns. She knows who to refer any concerns to and shares her safeguarding policy with parents so they are fully aware of her responsibilities. The childminder develops close relationships with parents. For example, she shares her policies to make them aware of her practice. The childminder monitors children's progress well overall and promotes her professional development. For example, she attends training, in order to improve her teaching skills and promote children's development.
p.3
Quality of teaching, learning and assessment is good
At the start of the children joining the provision, the childminder finds out detailed information about their individual needs. She provides flexible routines and care plans that meet children's needs. The childminder promotes children's personal, social and emotional development well. For example, she ensures stimulating and appropriate resources are sensitively stored within children's reach, so they have the opportunity to make choices and learn. Children enjoy outings where they play and share with other children. The childminder is a good role model to children, such as when teaching them to take care of the toys. The childminder effectively promotes children's physical development. For example, young children develop their small muscles and handle different resources as they play.
p.3
Personal development, behaviour and welfare are good
Children settle well and feel secure with the childminder. They build strong attachments with her and show these through their positive actions. For example, young children smile and laugh to show their happiness. They receive warm, spontaneous cuddles and their emotional needs are given a high priority. Young children demonstrate high levels of curiosity and interest as they crawl around the childminder's home to explore and discover new things. Children explore resources that the childminder uses to teach them about different families within their local community. Children's health and safety needs are also promoted well. The childminder keeps parents closely informed of their children's day-to- day well-being and routines.
p.3
Outcomes for children are good
Young children learn skills that prepare them well for their next stages of learning. For example, they display independence and confidence as they play and explore. They develop good coordination and mobility. Children respond well to simple instructions, behave well, and learn to listen and to show respect for others.
